Rosie Ferguson is 17 and ready to enjoy the summer before her senior year of high school. She's intelligent (she aced AP physics), athletic (a former state-ranked tennis doubles champion), and beautiful. She is, in short, everything her mother, Elizabeth, hoped she could be. But as the school year draws to a close, there are disturbing signs that the life Rosie claims to be leading is a sham.

Susan says: "Imperfect birds not quite perfect but good."
    "Very slow"
    Overall

Did not enjoy this at all - had to stop 3/4 of the way as it was dragging on.

I can barely get through this book. It has very little depth, too simple writing and the narrator is terrible. I liked his other novel Still Missing but this is just bad

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Great Great Great"
    Overall

The characters are well developed. Such a great read...the readers make you feel like you are in living in this historical time. HIGHLY recommend this book. Also great is the Kitchen House, which is similar in narration and storytelling.
