In Washington: A Life celebrated biographer Ron Chernow provides a richly nuanced portrait of the father of our nation. This crisply paced narrative carries the reader through his troubled boyhood, his precocious feats in the French and Indian War, his creation of Mount Vernon, his heroic exploits with the Continental Army, his presiding over the Constitutional Convention, and his magnificent performance as America's first president.

    "FANTASTIC!!"
    Overall

This book is a straight forward unbiased view of the life of our first president. The author doesn't white wash or over criticize Mr. Washington but offers a fair, complete, and detailed look into the man who became a legend. I have learned a more honest approach about George Washington from this book than any previous one I've read. Very well researched, and very well written. The history, the politics, and the society of the times come to life in this biography. Scott Brick is the perfect voice for narrating this story!

Do you have the courage, the wits, and the skill to claim a dragon's hoard? If so, apply within . . . The sign is small, tucked into the corner of Mr. Clutter's bookshop window: “Adventurers Wanted. Apply Within.” No one but fifteen-year-old Alex Taylor even seems to notice it is there. And for Alex, who has wished for a change in his life, it is an irresistible invitation.Upon entering Mr. Clutter's shop, Alex is swept away on an incredible adventure to a faraway land filled with heroic warriors, mysterious elves, and hard-working dwarves.

We picked this book up in a bookstore for my 11 year old son and after he read this one and the next in the series, I asked how he liked them...his faced lit up and he went on and on about magic and elves, swords and wizards. I love a good fantasy novel, so I decided to give it a try on Audible. Wow! Great story, great performance! EB Stevens did a fantastic job of mixing different accents, octaves, and tones to make each character their own. Well done and highly recommend it to anyone!

    R. A. Salvatore's New York Times best-selling novel! Drizzt DoUrden has forsaken his subterranean home for the harsh unknown of the surface. The young warrior begins a sojourn through a world utterly unlike his own - and finds that acceptance among the surface-dwellers will only come at a great price....

Many years ago, I read this series and the Crystal Shard trilogy when they were first published and have followed the life and experiences of Drizzt the Drow Elf for many years. When it was released by Audible on audiobook, I was excited to jump back in and re-live those stories...I am so glad I did. Hearing these novels read by Victor Bevine is fantastic! His voice is perfect and he brings each character to life in their own unique way! Have downloaded this trilogy and the Crystal Shard trilogy to listen to again and again. I'm also sharing these audiobooks with my 10 and 11 year old children and teaching them the principles of the books...you can rise above your environment. You can become whatever you want, and living a principled life may not be easy, but it is worth it! Thanks Audible for bringing me back to these great books!

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Was referred to this book by a family member who loved it. I really liked the story...very creative and very interesting...and I would rate it higher; however, I am very disappointed by the amount of profanity written into this book...especially since it was marketed to young kids and all of the lead characters are kids. Mistakenly thought since the author was a Mormon, it wouldn't have such profanity...not an audiobook I'm comfortable listening to in the car with my kids.

When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

Glenn destroys "Controlist's" logic with facts and well cited research. If you believe in the 2nd Amendment then this is a must read book. Also, parents who have kids that play video games should focus on part 2 of this book for some eye opening (and frankly repulsive) look at what content is allowed in today's video games and the psychological impact these games can have on our kids! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!!

If you are looking to invest yourself in a new multi-book series that you can enjoy with your entire family...this is a great choice! This series has it all and literally, nearly every character from literary history is given a part in this series, Shakespeare, Mars (the god of war), Joan of Ark, Excalibur, etc. A fun story that keeps you guessing all the way to the last pages of the last book. Great fun, great story!

I really thought that any book by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman would be safe to share with my children. I have purchased and loved their works for over 30 years, and never before found a profane word in any of their books. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when "f" bombs came out of my speakers while listening to this book!! I refuse to listen any further, and will no longer feel safe purchasing one of their books to share with my children. Why would you do this, Tracy??? The narrator has a very nice deep voice (reminds me of Warf on Star Trek Enterprise), but struggles greatly trying to do the female character voices..would have been much better with a male and female narrator.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

This book was riveting!! As I listened to the story unfold, many times I felt myself pleading with Rachel to just run away...to help Mitch remember his little girl...and to give Cyrus a piece of his own medicine. This is a well written story of how abuse can progress from generation to generation until someone says "I'm done!". A great story, I wish hadn't ended. Well done, Glenn Beck, well done!
