Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Suzanne Collins creates a world where children are pawns to provide brutal entertainment to Capital citizens. A gripping tale of survival, trust, love and fear that leaves you "hungry" for the next installment. A great book for anyone young or old!

When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

Glenn destroys "Controlist's" logic with facts and well cited research. If you believe in the 2nd Amendment then this is a must read book. Also, parents who have kids that play video games should focus on part 2 of this book for some eye opening (and frankly repulsive) look at what content is allowed in today's video games and the psychological impact these games can have on our kids! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!!

If you are looking to invest yourself in a new multi-book series that you can enjoy with your entire family...this is a great choice! This series has it all and literally, nearly every character from literary history is given a part in this series, Shakespeare, Mars (the god of war), Joan of Ark, Excalibur, etc. A fun story that keeps you guessing all the way to the last pages of the last book. Great fun, great story!

Skylan Ivorson is a sea-raider of the Vindras, an undefeated champion of the Torgun clan, and eventually the Chief of Chiefs of all Vindras clans, an honor he truly feels he deserves as one who has been blessed by Skoval, the god of war. But sometimes a blessing is a curse in disguise.

I really thought that any book by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman would be safe to share with my children. I have purchased and loved their works for over 30 years, and never before found a profane word in any of their books. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when "f" bombs came out of my speakers while listening to this book!! I refuse to listen any further, and will no longer feel safe purchasing one of their books to share with my children. Why would you do this, Tracy??? The narrator has a very nice deep voice (reminds me of Warf on Star Trek Enterprise), but struggles greatly trying to do the female character voices..would have been much better with a male and female narrator.

This book was riveting!! As I listened to the story unfold, many times I felt myself pleading with Rachel to just run away...to help Mitch remember his little girl...and to give Cyrus a piece of his own medicine. This is a well written story of how abuse can progress from generation to generation until someone says "I'm done!". A great story, I wish hadn't ended. Well done, Glenn Beck, well done!

What an amazing and balanced story of the battle of Gettysburg! I loved how the author used characters from both sides of the battle to tell the story. Brother fighting against brother, each believing they had God on their side. The love and respect soldiers had for their Generals, the struggle to go to battle against your friends...an emotional ride worth taking!

In Washington: A Life celebrated biographer Ron Chernow provides a richly nuanced portrait of the father of our nation. This crisply paced narrative carries the reader through his troubled boyhood, his precocious feats in the French and Indian War, his creation of Mount Vernon, his heroic exploits with the Continental Army, his presiding over the Constitutional Convention, and his magnificent performance as America's first president.

This book is a straight forward unbiased view of the life of our first president. The author doesn't white wash or over criticize Mr. Washington but offers a fair, complete, and detailed look into the man who became a legend. I have learned a more honest approach about George Washington from this book than any previous one I've read. Very well researched, and very well written. The history, the politics, and the society of the times come to life in this biography. Scott Brick is the perfect voice for narrating this story!
