Max Tudor has adapted well to his post as vicar of St. Edwold's in the idyllic village of Nether Monkslip. The quiet village seems the perfect home for Max, who has fled a harrowing past as an MI5 agent. But this new-found serenity is quickly shattered when the highly vocal and unpopular president of the Women's Institute turns up dead at the Harvest Fayre. The death looks like an accident, but Max's training as a former agent kicks in, and before long he suspects foul play.

If you could sum up Wicked Autumn in three words, what would they be?

    Cozy, Easy, Funny

What other book might you compare Wicked Autumn to and why?

Agatha Raisin Series- English village and the cast of characters

What about Michael Page’s performance did you like?

Crystal clear pronounciation and well timed pauses made for easy listening.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but toward the end I forced myself to turn it off because I didn't want the book to end.

    Any additional comments?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The listening (which I attribute to the narrator) is fine.

What could Jacques Couvillon have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I was under the impression, from books that were linked as similar, that this book was an upbeat coming-of-age story. In fact it was an agonizing story of the neglect and abuse that a crazy, selfish mother inflicted on a kind child. The story was made more real by the talent of the author.

Here is a quirky, wry, and ironic tale about the Ransomes, who have been burgled. Everything has gone, even the toilet paper, and for the stuffy solicitor and his wife, it marks a turning point.

Would you ever listen to anything by Alan Bennett again?

I have read and enjoyed The Uncommon Reader. This book is NOT at all like that pleasant book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Anger!!!

    Any additional comments?

I was looking for an entertaining, gentle read. This certainly isn't that!!! A man and wife, who bicker constantly, find a pornographic recording in their posession. The end of this very depressing book focuses mostly on this tape.
