President Bill Clinton's My Life is the strikingly candid portrait of a global leader who decided early in life to devote his intellectual and political gifts, and his extraordinary capacity for hard work, to serving the public. It is the fullest, most concretely detailed, most nuanced account of a presidency ever written, and a testament to the positive impact on America and on the world of his work and his ideals.

    "Interesting listening, lots crammed in"
    Overall

I was interested in this book because of the many interesting speeches I'd heard Fmr. Pres. Clinton give. I'd found him to be a good speaker, he did his homework and it usually showed. What I found engaging was his sense of humor and candor. I'm new to audio books and I chose the abridged version for fear of boredom and found that while it was interesting to listen to, there was so much ground to cover that I think his witticisms and sense of humor were cut out in order to cover it all. So, if your interested in hearing some "behind the scenes" stuff, this book is great. But some of the humanity of Clinton is left out and it suffers for that.

Jim Rogers and his fiancie, began their "Millennium Adventure" on January 1, 1999. They traveled through 116 countries, including many where most have rarely ventured, such as Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, and Angola. They saw the real world from the ground up - the only vantage point from which it can be truly understood - economically, politically, and socially and have saw the world and understood it as it really is.

Trevor says: "I want the Unabridged version"
"Interesting, Fun, Insightful, and never dull"
    Overall

While I may not agree with the author all the time he does describe an exciting journey and his views are based on first hand accounts which is a lot more than I can say for most economic "experts". I am seriously considering either buying the book or the unabridged audio copy to get all of the details that were glossed over in this abridged version.
The author has certainly gone to great lengths to travel to distant lands and report back on the economic conditions he found. That certainly made it worth my time. The funny stories and first hand adventures were a bonus!

  • Shadow Divers: Adventure of Two Americans Who Risked Everything to Solve One of the Last Mysteries of WWII

For John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, deep wreck diving was more than a sport. Testing themselves against treacherous currents, braving depths that induced hallucinatory effects, they pushed themselves to their limits and beyond, brushing against death more than once in the rusting hulks of sunken ships.

I hesitated to jump into this book as I expected it to be on the dry side. I was wrong! This is easily the best book on tape I've ever heard. It kept me riveted the whole way through. I found myself making up reasons for small car trips so that I could listen to more of it! Even the portions of the book where there is a lot of research going on are exciting because of all of the discoveries that are made. Once you understand things the way the divers do it makes each trip to the wreck much more exciting!

Kai Ryssdal's 1hr weekly program keeps me up to date on personal finance. While I'm no finance whiz, I find learning about the best ways to invest, save, and spend interesting. I look forward to each week's episode and enjoy the easy-going nature of the show. I tried to replace this show with the daily Marketplace, but found that it was too much and I lost interest in keeping up with it. If you are new to personal finance or have a lot of money invested already, this show will invariably help you unravel whatever question you may have or at least point you in the right direction to find your answers.

Rob says: "Bill Clinton is a Genius"
    "Bill Clinton at his best"

His speech is engaging, funny, and inspiring. It made me want to listen to his book all over again, but this time listen to the unabridged version so that I could hear all of his funny anecdotes. You can really get a feel for how he thinks, what he considers important, and his intelligence listening to him talk about his book, or as he likes to call it, his story.
