Everything - narration, story, characters...Loved it!
She IS the book...her narration is wonderful.
The scene when the daughter meets her internet friend...extreme reaction! Not saying why...it would spoil it...
The story was most unusual and I could really picture the suburban environment and characters as the narrator was very consistent with his voices and characterisations.
I like all the loose ends to be tied up in a book, and in this case there were a few left 'hanging' however that has given me food for thought...so not such a bad thing.
Richie Curran - empathy empathy empathy...read it and find out why!
His Irish accents were really spot on...I particularly liked the voice of the nosey neighbour.
Really enjoyable all round.
The depth of the story and the exploration of the characters - I looked forward to getting into my car and listening to the next chapter...
I love her voice...she is very talented and I often choose a book simply because she is the narrator.
No extreme reaction...more of a prolonged enjoyment of the story.
Yes...we studied this book for our Book Club. I was the only one to listen to it...everyone else read it. The narrators bring each character to life in such a way that I felt I knew them all personally. At our Book Club meeting I played some of the audio so that my fellow readers could enjoy some of the characters for themselves.
The narration was wonderful.
Each character was memorable in this book...no-one stood out more than another...they were all fabulous.
Yes, but I am biased...I love any book by Kate Atkinson.
The bomb scene in the London townhouse when the baby is found...
Audible books come to life with a brilliant narrator...
Silvie - as long as we could have dinner at Fox Corner as I would love to visit that house.
LIke I said, please write another book soon Kate Atkinson.
Warm, Fuzzy, Irish
I love her voice...this is one of the reasons I listened to this book.
No...it is the perfect book to listen to over a period of time as each chapter is from the perspective of a different character.
Such a loss when Maeve Binchy died...she did write lovely books.
Yes, I loved it - I missed the characters when I was not listening to this book...could not wait to get into my car and turn on the audible download.
That is hard to say as I am new to listening to my books and the whole experience of listening to a book makes it much more 'visual' for me...I would need to listen to more books before I can compare.
Any scene with the 'girlfriend' of the husband.
The tree being chopped down was very moving...I felt so sorry for her.
The story was believable and the characters, although not all likeable, were very real.
Lots of interesting characters - flawed and real - and described so well by the author.
He is an excellent narrator - he brought each character to life.
Crystal Weaden - she was so believable - everything she did I could imagine I may have done under similar circumstances.
I have never read any of JK Rowlings Harry Potter books - and probably won't, as I don't like fantasy style books...I wish she would write more of this style now...if she can do that I will be a happy reader!
Great story and fabulous narrator...more like listening to a play than a book.
Everything...I just love anything by Marian Keyes though...real life situations with an element of humour in everything.
I have read the book and now listened to it...the characters come alive with her voice...she is brilliant.
Fintan losing his hair in the shower...I cried and cried.
Listen to anything narrated by Juanita McMahon - she is a very talented narrator.
