"Absolutely Awsome book for this subject!"
This is NOT your ordinary "cheap thrill" erotica, 3-5 predictable short story lines and poorly written. This book examines the internal thoughts, feelings, emotions, and passions of a dominate/submissive relationship. My wife and I will occasionally experiment with a dominate/submissive type sex play and she always asks me what is going through my head, what am I thinking while in the dominate role to better understand what parts are erotic for me and why. When I listened to this book, I finally found a tool that I could use to help her understand not only what goes through a dominates mind, but she also got to hear the "students" character of being a submissive and how it might relate to her when she assumes that role.
After hearing this book I had to listen with her so I could point out my parallel thoughts, feelings and emotions when playing a dominate role. It really helped her understand more about what excited me about being a dominate, therefore, could relate better when playing like that.
It was also nice to see the loving, tender, caring and emotional side of a dominate person. So many BDSM stories seem to focus on more "cruelty" than developing the personalities, feelings and emotions that the author develops with these characters. It is SO refreshing to have a book so well written that when listening can suck you right into the scene, grip you and not let you go. The story line is for the most part, very believable which also helped keep my attention.
Performance wise, I thought the female reader did and extraordinary job. However, I didn't like the male readers voice and I had to work a little for it not to distract me. He performed/read well it's just his voice sounded too old for the character making me think at times he sounded more like a "dirty old man" with a very young girl, Might have been a little better with a little "younger" sounding voice. But again well performed and read.
There has to be more from this author, please!
"I liked the book"
This started out to be another tired, worn out plot of the Billionaire kinky guy seducing the unlikely out of his league woman, where he will teach her his kink world but then falls in love with her and she becomes more than "property" to him... yawn yawn. However, this book has that underlying premise but then gets a little more creative and thickens the plot a bit more, in a somewhat "Hollywood" fashion. If you like the billionaire type books I describe above, and what a little more action and deeper plot lines, than you will enjoy this book.
"Good listen for a 3rd in a seriec"
If you listened to the books in sequence, I was surprised that this seemed like a "new book" in a way, since the book deviated from the main character Emma Pierce in the first two books to Reid Alexander and a new "co-star" in book 3. I liked how they closed out the first two books in book 3, but it did take a turn from what I expected. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it and would look forward to another in the series.
"GREAT Listen! Finally a romance/erotica book with"
I don’t remember which category romance or erotica this book was classified in, however, you get both and much more with this book. I listen to a lot in the combined category and most of the time it’s full of sex scenes, not well written and typically been there read that! This book is truly refreshing and unique since it has a plot, great writing, romance, passion, hot/erotic scenes with “cliff hanging” anticipations. If that is not enough, the author combines many “non vanilla”, taboo and scenarios that are typically seen as “socially deviant” demonstrating a unique and creative mind that breaks the mold for this category of book. After all how many more stories can we tolerate of a “kinky” billionaire that finds the unexpected ordinary woman outside his wealth and kink experience that is going to turn her to his world and ends up falling in love with her… Boring, please stop writing those. I find it interesting that the author describes the editing process of the book Norah is writing in great depth and how the editor is ripping it apart to make it a better book, It seems they put the same effort into providing us with a great book/listen.
Starting book 2 tomorrow.
"Good information gives a vocabulary to use"
This book isn't well written or narrated since it was read by the author. However, the basis for good communication is having a common vocabulary to use as you discuss topics and this book does that.
Sexual fulfillment is a hard topic to discuss since we as a society don't grow up talking about how to sexually fulfill the opposite sex. Typically we get negative or bad information from movies, books, magazines, etc. This book takes a general view of innate needs for men and women to be sexually fulfilled.
The concept/vocabulary of using food, i.e. fast food sex (quickies), comfort food sex, and gourmet food sex, is a great way to discuss w/your partner needs, wants, desires to ultimately understand how to sexually fulfill each other.
Its a quick listen, and if you and your partner listen together, I would almost guarantee you will have conversations like you have not had prior to listening to the book.
"Wish it didn't end w/book 3"
This whole series has been a pleasure to listen to. It's a cute romantic story, kind of reminds me of a Disney movie plot/theme but more PG-13 or R rated. This is not my topical book I would listen to, I prefer books with a more erotic theme. However, there was something about the story/characters/writing/narration that sucked me in and I found myself not wanting to stop listening and wish there were more books to continue the story.
"A good continuation of Book 1"
This whole series has been a pleasure to listen to. It's a cute romantic story, kind of reminds me of a Disney movie plot/theme but more PG-13 or R rated. This is not my topical book I would listen to, I prefer books with a more erotic theme. However, there was something about the story/characters/writing/narration that sucked me in and I found myself not wanting to stop listening and eagerly downloaded book 3 to continue the story.
"Interesting plot and sentual"
This was a good listen, good/different plot, well narrated with a bit of an erotic theme. This isn't your typical very explicit graphic erotic writing you could expect with this type of book. However, there was a good balance of intrigue, romance, erotic, and they left this book completely open for a sequel, which I would have quickly downloaded if it was available.
"Story a little silly, but a few hot moments"
The story line was very thin, it tried to have some suspense but it just didn't keep you on the edge or anything. The author repeats characters feelings/ideas/thoughts WAY TOO much! Come on, we get the picture don't keep beating the horse dead.
I'm not really sure what the primary storyline was supposed to be, finding her stalker or her sexual awakening as a submissive. Nevertheless, there the writer could write some hot scenes, so that helped me get through the thin story line.
"Bravo Awsome Narration and great writing!"
The performance from Imogen Church was incredible! She reads so well you think you are at a movie watching the story unfold. The book was interesting, characters very likeable, I could actually see this story being played out in non-fiction. The writing was hot and erotic w/out being gross, predictable, unrealistic or stupid (as some erotic scenes can get). There was humor in Guendolen's first party thoughts that she frequently shared, created a little suspense all while the writing created vivid depictions of the story.
I listened to this book by myself first and liked it so much I thought my wife would like to hear it as well. So I listened again with her while recently driving on a trip. She enjoyed it and I equally enjoyed it the second time as well.
"Finally an "out of the box" erotic story"
Most erotica I read seems predictable and the same story told over and over. However, the author of this book I think broke out of that mold, got creative and came up with something new! Sure a lot of erotic scenes, but a unique and engaging storyline for erotica. I liked how Lord Mardlon was always many steps a head and I like how the Carrissa character came to terms of what her preferences were and kept moving toward them despite what "society" tells us what "normal" should be. I personally found it creative and refreshing approach to erotica. I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but the story and narration were very good.
