This was my first political autobiography in years and I enjoyed it. The President's selection of topics left me with a feeling of "holes" - maybe I should have selected the unabridge version. I've downloaded Mrs. Clinton's book, maybe it will provide additional insights to the President's political life as well as a look into her own.
As a non-fiction book I have to give it credit for keeping me engaged.

Nothing new in the plot, the villains are scary and overwhelming right up till the moment the underdog hero/s pulls off a last minute victory. Yet the characters and story remain enjoyable. Kate Reading is a pleasure to listen to.
If you like a series in the style of Tolkien, Jordon and Sanderson, you will enjoy this series - just don't expect the depth of character or complexity.

I've tried to listen to this book twice on long commutes, shut it off or fast forwarded both times. I'm hoping it gets better - can't sell my audio copy in a garage sale.

Agincourt was so much better than this book. I think Tom Sellwood tried his best, but an "older" voice would have helped this book, and it needed the help of a great narrator. I've got another BC book in my library already so I'm hoping this was a fluke.

There was a lot of extras in here that should have landed on the cutting room floor to borrow from the film medium.
It was good when it was good and then there were stretches of filler that are harder to skip in audio than in paper form.
John Lee did a nice job narrating - I'll look for other books he has done before I look at another Follett book.

This book is like a 2 lane country highway through the hills, you can't go fast, but whenever you get tired of the pace, a hill appears and you have to know what's on the other side.
The narrator does a very nice job - reminds me of George G.

I'm sure if I'd read this in hard copy I would have "cheated" and skipped ahead to see if the fox gets his ears pinned.

As a die hard supporter of secular governments I find myself alarmed at the current interpretations of the Islamic faith based states. It may not matter if the motivation is true faith, greed, anger,jealous, ignorance or a combination - the results will be the same - generations of hate, violence and death. I wonder, would a shift in world fuel from Oil to something else not found in the Holy Lands and Middle East be enough of a catalyst to change the dynamics??? I'd like to read more about the economics involved ... follow the money so to speak.
And I will proudly set aside my religious beliefs in honor of your secular rights and expect the same in return.

I did not rate this book higher because the book/author/narrator were hard to follow sometimes and the book would have benefited from better organization and editing.

Very enjoyable - good color and depth - action and plot. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book and the narrator did a nice job. Excellent introduction to the man and events, leaves you wanting to know more.

This is a good listen, no real intrigue or depth but interesting enough.

How do you analysis and educate with out stirring up ill feelings among the members of the communities being discussed - very carefully. I think Mr. Peters does a good job, he does not takes sides and he sets aside the "contents" of the religion to help achieve the objective - an understanding of where the religons came from and a very brief description of some structural/governing aspects of the religions.
I wish they had his other books on line so I could continue listening,
I also wish more people would pusue an understanding of the 3 religons - a little more understanding of motives and beliefs will help us all
