The honourable Christopher Fancot, on leave from the Diplomatic Service in the summer of 1817, is startled to find his entrancing but incorrigibly extravagant mother on the brink of financial and social ruin - and more than alarmed that his identical twin, Evelyn, Earl of Denville, has disappeared without trace. Christopher, or Kit, the respectable brother, is forced into an outrageous masquerade by his wayward family's tangled affairs. But in the face of Evelyn's continued absence, even Kit's ingenuity is stretched to the limit.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. Sadly, I was unable to finish the book. I read many of Georgette Heyer's books years ago as a teenager. Some are still relevant. This one is not.

Would you recommend False Colours to your friends? Why or why not?

No, I would not recommend False Colours as it is slow moving and boring.

What three words best describe Phyllida Nash’s voice?

    ok, material uninspiring

Did False Colours inspire you to do anything?

Prevented the temptation to go down memory lane and buy further Georgette Heyer audio books. Sigh. Despite pleasant memories of enjoying them 30 years ago, this book just doesn't translate to the here and now.

    Waste of credit.....

Lanie Heron isn't looking for love-no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club . . .

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I usually love Kristen Ashely books. Normally they are fast paced and funny with a Heroine you can identify with and root for. Unfortunately, Fire Inside was merely Ok. I did like checking in with some of the previous characters like Tack and Tyra, etc.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Not sure I am interested in reading any more books in this particular series.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Fire Inside seemed like a filler book for the series. I found myself checking to see how much was left so I could finish and go on to another book.

Was Fire Inside worth the listening time?

I think the narrator did the best she could. Lanie was truly an annoying twit.

    Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the Rock Chick books in audio.

Dear Listener, Island Flame is a classic tale of romance on the high seas, featuring two extraordinary characters: the headstrong Lady Catherine Aldley and the legendary pirate Jonathan Hale. No book is more special to me. I was thrilled when it was published, and now, more than thirty years later, I am just as excited to share it again with you. I don’t have to tell you that their tumultuous escapade sizzles with passion (lots of passion!), but what I hope you will take away most from Cathy and Jonathan is that dreams do come true - in love and in life. Mine did, and I hope yours will too.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Ok for a sale book but overall mean spirited.

If you’ve listened to books by Karen Robards before, how does this one compare?

I bought the sequel at the same time I bought the first book as I usually like Karen Robards and they were both on sale. By the end of Island Flame I wish I had not purchased the sequel.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Narration was fine. She didn't have a lot to work with.

Do you think Island Flame needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Should have stopped with Island Flame

    Any additional comments?

    Too dark to be enjoyable.
