Ok, where do I start on just how horrible this book is. Delirium was good. I loved it, I loved the characters, I loved the relationship between Lena and Alex... Sigh, Alex. What happened at the end was probably the hardest I have ever cried during a book before. And after Alex's potential death, the only reason I picked up Pandemonium is because I had hope that the relationship between Alex and Lena wouldn't have been so perfect just for him to die. I had very high hopes, and a really strong feeling he lived. So I forced myself through Pandemonium, through the ridiculously forced new relationship between Lena and Julian. Which happened way too early after what she just experienced. Ugh. Gross. The second book sucked something major, and once again, I only picked up book 3 because I was right. Alex was alive!!! Though he only got the last 30 seconds of the damn book. So naturally, I just knew her and Alex would end up back together and I had to see Alex get his happily ever after. Requiem was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Alex was a completely different person. They might have had 3 conversations throughout the whole book, they shared one passionless kiss, and then you don't even find out what happens to anyone!? Does Lena choose Alex? Julian? What happens to ANY of the characters? What happens in the huge battle that's raging on?? I am so dissatisfied -- and since this is the last installment in the trilogy, there is nothing to fix this sense of everything being up in the air. Come on Lauren, serious readers are a very intense and specific creature! They get really into books and they especially get really attached to the characters! They want the characters to get their happy ending but damn, if that isn't possible, then just having some clue as to what happens would be better than leaving us with nothing but unanswered questions!! Ahhhhhhhhh!! Sooooo irritated!!!
