Take Sam Spade and mix in some Kenneth Horne and you get Garson Krebs. This is a great radio show. I highly recommend those fond of old British radio farce shows to get Garson Krebs, Private Eye!
I was a tiny bit disappointed in the story. I love the other Smiley novels but this one fell a bit short. Still its a good mystery and worth listening too but don't give up on the story too soon. It took me a while but I eventually got into it.
Excellent reading and the intro by King was very interesting.
Odd Thomas is a good book but its not a good Dean Koontz book. When I picked it out I was expecting something with a little more bite in it. Something that got my adrenaline going like Dragon Tears or Tick-Tock. Its still a good book, it was just an unexpected change of pace.
Like any SF junkie, I've heard of Ben Bova for a very long time. Unfortunately I've never got around to reading/listening to his stories, till now. I picked Jupiter for one my membership books and didn't know what to expect. Well, I'm glad I picked it, because this is great SF! A captivating story and interesting ideas.
This books feels though it was "dumbed down". The characters are really shallow and the little "puzzles" are a bit too easy. The books is rather like the movie "National Treasure". Its fun and entertaining but once you start to think about it, you'll find there isn't much there. I would like to point out, that the reader did an excellent job. On the whole, its a great book to clean house with. You can half-listen to it and you won't miss any thing.
This is a wonderful audio book. The actors really brought the book to life.
I've known that Palin was doing these "travelogues" for some time now. But I've never gotten around to watching his shows or reading/listening to any of his books. I never really could stand the travel channel, any way.
One day I was poking around Audible, and there it was - "Sahara". I downloaded right away. I wasn't quite sure what I expected but with the name Sahara, it had to be intresting. What I found was delightful real-life story that had me hooks for hours. I finished the whole thing in one sitting. Palin is an excellent story teller and I can't wait to listen to his other adventures.
I was a bit shocked when I started listening because this isn't really a Star Trek book. Its more a vaudeville/farce. Once I got over the shock and started listening, I thought it was rather fun.
It would be much better seeing the performance live but I think anyone who likes the Star Trek characters would enjoy this.
I first heard the Navy Lark on my university's radio station. I was laughing so hard it hurt within the first 30 seconds. I had completely forgotten about it till I stumbled upon it on Audible and I bought it right away.
If you've watched Dad's Army then just think of this show as the navy counter-part.
