I'm ambivalent of how I feel about this story. The story was good, I won't deny it. But my eyes were rolling A LOT while I was listening to the story.

Too many similes for my taste. The falcon metaphor was pushed a bit too far and became annoying after a while. And the way the author wrote about the woman's "precious jewel that needed polishing between the gentle folds of her... bla bla" (I'm obviously paraphrasing here but you get my meaning), was just eye rolling and preposterous!

I honestly laughed out loud a few times (when it wasn't supposed to be funny). It wasn't like there was any witty banter between the main protagonists in the story like Johanna Lindsey writes for her characters. But I digress.

Not my favourite. There are better ones out there, for sure.

I think Eloisa James is among my favourite historical romance novelists. Her writing is smart, funny, and I'm never disappointed. This addition to her fairy tales is fantastic. Her characters come to life so easily in our imaginations with her descriptions and the way she makes them interact with one another. I would recommend this one in a heartbeat.

This one had an interesting story. It wasn't my favourite, but it was good. The story was well thought out. Hidden identity themed historical romance.

This is my first Wallflowers Kleypas novel, but it won't be my last. I'm already listening to Devil in Winter (Wallflowers n. 3).

The love story is totally believable in this one. I liked the main characters' strengths and weaknesses. The opening scene was original as well. I would recommend this one for lovers of historical romance.

I liked some of Linda Howard's other novels, but this one left me wanting. The story was alright, but I found that the love story element of the novel wasn't really believable. Yes, characters in these types of novels fall in love pretty fast, love at almost first sight and all... but I found there was nothing to hint at a reason as to why they fell in love in the first place. It just wasn't believable. But the suspense story elements were interesting. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Good narration though from Natalie Ross.

I'm pleasantly surprised with Maya Banks' highlanders. She an excellent storyteller and you really feel for her characters. I'm definitely going to listen to the third in this series. I also recommend reading Paula Quinn highlander books.

Yes, just like I expected it was going to be -- it's great. Mr. Gigante is a fantastic narrator. I find that in narrating love scenes could make the reader, and the listener, uncomfortable. The story if funny because of the people out of their time. Lots of angst and sexual tension. And you can't go wrong with those sexy highlanders!

I'm not expecting anything earth shattering new with contemporary romance. What I do expect is some kind of catharsis. I didn't really identify with Duffy. The dialogue wasn't riveting. There are so many other better contemporary romance novels to chose from, I probably wouldn't recommend this one above a score of others.

Honestly, I liked it. It was one of my "gym audiobooks." I choose stories that don't need too much concentration, but are entertaining enough to keep my attention while I'm sweating away on the bike/treadmill/elliptical.

I give it a 3.5 star rating. I like Julie Garwood, but I find her male characters are caricatural, stereotypical and predictable. There was absolutely not depth in the main male character's personality. Personally, aside his "rock hard manly muscles," he had not a lot going for him. He was thoughtful though, I will give him that. And gentlemanly.

The narrator was great! I'd only recommend it if it was on sale. I'd save my precious credits for something else.

I really liked this one by Johanna Lindsey, and I think I'd rank her among my favourite Romance authors.

The performance was great! It must have been hard to find someone who could speak with an American, English as well as a Scottish accent! The accents may not have been perfect, but I personally did not notice if they weren't.

This novel can easily be read without reading the others in the series. I haven't read any other of Lindsey's 'Malory' novels, but was perfectly able to follow this one on its own.
