"Narration :("
The narrator for this book was not good. There were very odd pauses and I ended up finally bumping the speed to 1.25x in order to finish the book. The book itself was ok, but I would recommend reading it yourself.
"Volume issues"
Volume was very inconsistent. Some moments I couldn't hear it at all while others were blowing out my car speakers.
"Iron Druid yes, others not so much"
I got this audiobook for the iron Druid story. I loved it! But the other two, not so much. I didn't know enough about the plots to really get into those stories.
"Not to much Nascar!"
I always really enjoy the forensics and science behind the discoveries, as well as the depth of description and background that Reichs provides.
This book is a bit weaker than some of her other books; it felt a bit rushed somehow. However, it's still the same old Brennan that we love.
Some people have complained about the abundance of NASCAR, and I was concerned that it would be to much. I didn't have a problem with it, however, and I am not a fan of the sport. It is well explained and relevant to the story, so for me it just became part of the background.
"Original and entertaining"
I really liked that the story was original and diverse.
Luke has a good voice, and it is easy to hear the differences in all the characters.
The book has been compared to the Dresden files, and that is a good comparison. At times, the main character ends up with more power than it seems he should have, so there is a bit of
"Interesting premise, badly written and read"
I enjoyed the story line, the premise behind the plot.
I didn't like the accents, the changes in voice, and the overall tone of the performance. The pacing was bad, and there were often pauses in the wrong places.
