Kane & Abel for a new generation!!

They had only one thing in common - William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless Polish immigrant. Two men born on the same day on opposite sides of the world, their paths were destined to cross in the ruthless struggle to build a fortune.

The marvellous story, spanning 60 years, of two powerful men linked by an all-consuming hatred, brought together by fate to save - and finally destroy - each other.

Would you listen to Kane and Abel again? Why?

Because, this book is beautifully written and flows so well, that you realise that you have been reading the book/listening for hours on end. You only go to sleep, as you cannot keep your eyes open.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kane and Abel?

When Abel discovers that William Kane was the original backer.

Which character – as performed by Jason Culp – was your favorite?

Well, all of them. He is brilliant.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, just as I read the book in one sitting.

    Any additional comments?

It is one of my all time favourites and I revisit every 4 years or so.

If you could sum up The Afghan in three words, what would they be?

    Totally believable account.

What other book might you compare The Afghan to and why?

The Fist of God. Because The Afghan is a follow on from it.

Have you listened to any of Steven Crossley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Brilliant.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really, except, I could not stop listening to it. I have read the book three times already.

    Any additional comments?

I have read every one of Frederick Forsyth books at least three times each, and I still enjoy them immensely. What a brilliant entertainer. Thank you very much.

Debt of Honor ends as Jack Ryan is confirmed vice president minutes before a mammoth act of terrorism kills the President, most of his cabinet, all but a few members of Congress, the entire Supreme Court and all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Suddenly Ryan is President, which is where Executive Orders begins.

Thomas says: "Don't some of us wish Jack ryan was real?"
"Listening to it, after reading it twice before."

Would you consider the audio edition of Executive Orders to be better than the print version?

Yes, as I can carry it around a lot easier.

What other book might you compare Executive Orders to and why?

Most other Tom Clancy and Frederick Forsyth books.

What does Michael Prichard bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Apart from it is nice to have someone reading it out for me, not much. He speaks very well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, and there are too many to list. This is why I love this book.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you, Tom Clancy, for many years of reading enjoyment.
