"Strength from Above"
Yes. Even though we may fail as human beings, there is no reason to give up. With help from above, through Christ, all things are possible.
I liked the fact the Josh chose not to blame other people for his failures but rather, took personal responsibility. Because of the nature of addiction, Josh has fallen again but by taking responsibility has risen again.

Down but not out.
"Tells it like it is"
"Simply the truth". Traditional and fundamental Christianity wants to believe that everyone believes (or should believe) that way they do. While the author doesn't believe that we should just like Jesus and not the church, this book tells why some people really do feel that way.

"Brought relevance to my Christian walk"
I have listened to it at least 3 times. The thought that for years all we have focused on is the "younger brother" when the real story is "the older brother" that sits in lots of pews of American churches today, was a wonderful revelation. While the older brothers are sincere and probably well meaning people, they also have been instrumental in why some people leave churches feeling hurt and battered. It's also why some never want to set foot in a church. Great message uncovered!
"Competitiveness to extreme. What is your purpose?"
Excessive passion and competitiveness whether in sports or in business has extreme negative consequences. This fictional audiobook, paints the picture vividly while also causing one to evaluate their purpose and what is really important in life.

His voice at times carries strength that can verge on arrogance at just the right times that one would imagine would reflect that of a winning coach. At other appropriate times it reflects empathy and compassion. Well done for this listeners ears.
At 64 years old, I feel that I have personally experienced and observed all aspects of the characters in the book. The book brilliantly has condensed a lifetime of learning into a short and very interesting read. I wish I could have learned those lessons a long time ago. That said, it's never to late to do the right thing(s).
