In November 2008, Hillary Clinton agreed to work for her former rival. As President Barack Obama's secretary of state, she set out to repair America's image around the world - and her own. For the following four years, BBC foreign correspondent Kim Ghattas had unparalleled access to Clinton and her entourage, and she weaves a fast-paced, gripping account of life on the road with Clinton in The Secretary.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    No one
Author has no talent. She was a minor player on Hillary's team. Was not privy to any real meetings. Why did she think she could tell a story about what she did not know about.

What could Kim Ghattas have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Not write it

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

    Nothing

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    Any additional comments?

Kour book club chose it, so I read it.other wise I would have turned the audio off and called it you win some you lose some

  • The Glass Rainbow: A Dave Robicheaux Novel

Why we think it’s a great listen: When it comes to author/narrator pairings, nobody tops James Lee Burke and Will Patton in the Robicheaux thrillers. Beloved Burke hero Detective Dave Robicheaux here returns to New Iberia to solve a series of grisly murders. Seven young women in neighboring Jefferson Davis Parish have been brutally murdered. While the crimes have all the telltale signs of a serial killer, the death of Bernadette Latiolais, a high-school honor student, doesn’t fit.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Glass Rainbow to be better than the print version?

A little slow start but eventually kept me up all night. A real cliff hanger

Where does Tonight I Said Goodbye rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Scott Brick delivers the scarabs tic humor of the character perfectly. Good story. Not too predictable

Would you listen to The Great Escape again? Why?

No, once is enough for fluff books

    Any additional comments?

Phillip's books are well written for the genre. Ido not read romance books, but her's have merit

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

If you could sum up 11-22-63 in three words, what would they be?

    Great character development.
Never wanted it to end. Missed the main character for days after finished reading. Not scarry. Good old fashion yarn. Just good storytelling.
