Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

If you could sum up The End of the Affair in three words, what would they be?

    In three words...beautiful, truthful, insightful.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how Greene folded the inevitable human struggle w faith & the nature/strength of human emotions and needs, into a story that took my breath away. It provoked so much thought and emotion in me. I think I love Sarah as much as the men in the book. I love too much about this book to choose one thing.

What about Colin Firth’s performance did you like?

I liked his performance. It wasnt great, and in fact, was a little dry. Esp at the beginning, but i got used to it. It was by no means a butcher job, though!

Who was the most memorable character of The End of the Affair and why?

Sarah Miles. Her journal broke my heart.

    Any additional comments?

I really liked how it showed that we cant ever judge people by their actions w/o knowing them. A different intent behind a single deed can make it into an atrocious sin, or a beautiful sacrifice.
