  • Conscious Business

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Fred Kofman
    • Narrated By Fred Kofman

Consciousness, teaches Fred Kofman, is the capacity to observe, choose, and act in accord with your values. And "conscious business" means using that ability at every level of your work: in being aware of the needs of others and expressing your own needs; in seeing the hidden emotional obstacles that may be holding your team back; in making good decisions under pressure; and even in delving into such spiritual questions as "Who am I?" and "What is my real purpose here?"

    "My favourite Book on Audible"

This is the only audible book I really cherish and I have listen to twice, if not more. Fred gives so many examples that just identify perfectly with corporate life = but on the other hand, the narration is almost like a lecture, not a book. You will change the way you work with people after reading this book.

  • 101 Power Thoughts

    • ABRIDGED (1 hr and 5 mins)
    • By Louise L. Hay
    • Narrated By Louise L. Hay

In this inspirational audiobook, Louise L. Hay brings you 101 power thoughts and explains how each can make your life more productive and positive. You might wish to replay the thoughts that are especially meaningful to you so they can really make a lasting impression.

Kelly says: "It's made a difference in my life"
    "Perfect! - One to cherish"

Like Wayne Dyer, this collection of thoughts will (mostly) resonate. I like listening to this in traffic or after a real heavy day. Its different to most books, because you don't actually have to listen to each thought, and if you miss out on one idea, there's always another just round the corner.

I would class this book as almost meditative in nature.

  • Brain Brew, 12-Month Subscription

    • Abridged/Unabridged (50 mins)
    • By Doug Hall, David Wecker

Brain Brew provides listeners with ideas and encouragement for turning their American dream into reality.

    Rob says: "Entertaining and Inspiring"
"Excellent - but get it for free by Googling"

I love this show, but why would you pay for it on Audible where you can download it in a myriad of ways, 100% legally, just by typing the name of the program in google?

The producers of the show (at time of writing) are producing podcasts and streams of their shows all for free!

  • Everyday Wisdom

    • UNABRIDGED (1 hr and 3 mins)
    • By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
    • Narrated By Wayne W. Dyer

Dr. Dyer reads his collection of over 200 insightful quotes and observations.

    Michael says: "Perfect!"

Just what I was looking for. This is great and delivers on its promise. Its like getting a little box full of quotation cards, and have each read out to you.

I listen to it whenever I feel I need a little advice spiritually, and its so very useful.

  • What Clients Love: A Field Guide to Growing Your Business

    • ABRIDGED (3 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Harry Beckwith
    • Narrated By Harry Beckwith

Harry Beckwith, author of the marketing classics Selling the Invisible and The Invisible Touch, applies his unparalleled clarity, insight, humor and expertise to a new age of mass communication and mass confusion. What Clients Love will help you stand out from the crowd - and sell anything to anyone.

Don McGowan says: "Good book, but man, the VOICE!"
    "It'll grow on you"

A previous reviewer was right about the voice, but the content is so
relevant and concise. Actually, I was quick to judge this the first time, but I can assure you, the voice may not be great, but the information is exceptionally useful. Give it a try.

  • Joy at Work: A Revolutionary Approach to Fun on the Job

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 9 mins)
    • By Dennis W. Bakke
    • Narrated By Dennis W. Bakke

Imagine a company where people love coming to work and are highly productive on a daily basis. Imagine a company whose top executives, in a quest to create the most "fun" workplace ever, obliterate labor-management divisions and push decision-making responsibility down to the plant floor. Could such a company compete in today's bottom-line corporate world? Could it even turn a profit?

    A. Miksovsky says: "wordy, hard to listen to"
    "Good - but not great!"

Why do publishers give misleading titles?

I expected an innovative, exciting book that gave me a way to make a workplace fun, exciting, even fresh. I got a nasally author telling me, in a very roundabout way how he ran a power company.

NOT VERY RELEVANT and far, far too wordy. You really will struggle to get through it all.

  • Business Ethics: Successful Business Practices

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By Ken Blanchard
    • Narrated By Ken Blanchard

Ken Blanchard, New York Times best-selling author who penned The One Minute Manager, talks with CEOs of leading companies about a subject he knows well: business ethics and leadership. Blanchard interviews eight industry leaders to explore the core values that drive them and their companies, and their own journeys from success to significance, from belief to action and authenticity.

    Michael says: "Misleading Title"
    "Misleading Title"

Although this is a somewhat interesting listen, I take two exceptions to this book. Firstly, it is hardly about business ethics at all, but actually about devout christians who "honour the lord" through their work. The second part, is that the interview subjects are not leaders at all, but are people that I have never heard of. Some of the interview subjects aren't even winners - they are people who are ex-bankrupts and convicted felons.

What I did see as a recurring theme is that the interview subjects came from a a very small geographic area, and all speak about their love of god. This should really be in the religion section with an appropriate title!

If you really want to hear and learn about Business Ethics, try Fred Kofmans e-book - also available on audible. Its 50 times better value, both in cost and educational value.

  • The One Minute Millionaire: The Enlightened Way to Wealth

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 21 mins)
    • By Mark Victor Hansen, Robert G. Allen
    • Narrated By Mark Victor Hansen, Robert G. Allen

The co-creator of the Chicken Soup series, Mark Victor Hansen, and the personal finance author, Robert Allen, have come together in a collaboration that combines inspiration with know-how. Uniquely organized, The One Minute Millionaire combines fiction and nonfiction to show the way to true wealth. Half the book is a fable about a woman faced with a terrible dilemma: Michelle must earn a million dollars in 90 days to keep her family together.

Kevin says: "In the wrong category?"
"Great Book - Absolutely Fantastic Narration"

This book is delivered in two parts, a non fiction element spoken by the authors, and a modern day parable, spoken by the narrator.

The non-fiction element has excellent narration, and the affirmations and messages are really inpsiring and home-hitting, no matter how far you are on the way to being a millionaire. I cant overemphasise how good this book is to listen to!

I didn't care for the second (fiction story) element of the book - it was just too contrived and not very interesting (trying too hard to tug at the heart strings). But hey! 6 hours of excellent content out of 12 hours still makes this book an absolute bargain.
