Miriam - also known as Mary - was born into a Palestine oppressed by Herod the Great; she is accustomed to living with uncertainty and unrest. But when her beloved father is wrongly imprisoned by the Romans, she takes action. She calls upon a well-known rebel by the name of Barabbas, and together they set out to save her father. A daring escape is accomplished and, against staggering odds, Miriam's father is saved from crucifixion.

Though I enjoyed the characters in the book. As a Christian women I found the book to be a joke and insulting.

For me this book was great from the begining. Sometimes in other books the story lags in the begining this didn't have that. I related to the main charecter right away. Since reading this book I have read everything this author has written:)

the only con is that it end and you still want more...

This book has a lot going on but the writer is good at reminding you of past events. The ending ties everything in to the story and explains things.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

This book is not at all my style but so many people said such nice things about it I was courious. I am so glad I put this in my library. Such a great book pulled me right in to the story. For a while there I was in the Mississipii in the 1960. The character come alive like no other book I ever heard/read.
