"Not long enough!"
This is a really good story that ended too quickly. That is the best thing I can say about a book.
"The best of the series!"
The Hunger Games sets up the story, this IS the story, and the last one is the anti-climax.
"WOW!"
The audio book gives the added demension of a guided tour of the story! I am afraid to see the movie for fear it will not measure up to the book!
I have read all three in the series and enjoyed them all!
"A worthwhile read!"
Talk about bang for your buck! This book is about 38 hours long! The narrator is outstanding and the story is great. Lots of humor, some history, and some graphic sex thrown in for good measure.
I WILL read it again!
"Downward trend"
The Hunger Games is a great story, the next one a little less so, and this one a bit less again.
I don't care for the narrator as Catliss though she was OK as other people. Would have been best in the reverse.
"Food for Thought"
I read this while driving through a rain storm. Not sure which kept me awake more, the rain or the book. Whichever; this book is certainly thought provoking and will be the subject of many discussions to come.
"OMG!!!!"
I listen to audio books while I drive rescue dogs to safety. I lug my laptop in the car to listen to them because Kindles only use a computer voice to "read" the book. I don't have a plug to use my car stereo :( My MP3 player doesn't have enough memory for a book like "THE HELP" and my laptop speakers are pretty good. I lived in Michigan and was a teen in the '60s. That was my time. I heard bits and pieces of what was happening in the south. I never met a black person til '66. I guess I lived a pretty sheltered life. I didn't hear anything about MLK til he died!
This book allowed me to understand, at the grass roots level, what it was all about!
FOUR narrators brought the book to life!
Do not hesitate to get this book, but dedicate alot of uninterrupted time to listen. You will only get angry when you have to press pause!
