In a cave high in the Alps, a renegade anthropologist discovers a frozen Neanderthal couple with a Homo sapiens baby. Meanwhile, in southern Russia, the U.N. investigation of a mysterious mass grave is cut short. One of the investigators, molecular biologist Kaye Lang, returns home to the U.S. to learn that her theory on human retroviruses has been verified with the discovery of SHEVA, a virus that has slept in our DNA for millions of years and is now waking up.

I don't know how a man wrote such an amazing section on child birth, but it's absolutely gripping.

Middlemarch is a recognized masterpiece that explores the complex social world of 19th century England. It is concerned with the lives of several ordinary people, albeit ones with high social standing. The novel explores the very fabric of Victorian society in the 1800s, showing how various human passions, heroism, egotism, love, and lust, interrelate within this society.

    Sharon says: "Excellent book!"
    "Indian accent? Puh-leeez"
    Overall

I usually like this narrator, but his Indian accent leaves SO much to be desired. Besides the fact that the story was extremely wooden, the tension flat, and the dialogue atrocious.
