    Depressing, although it does introduce Call and Gus.

    The few times that there are humor and the introduction of Mattie.

    No, it was disappointing after Lonesome Dove.

    The story itself.

    Sue Barlow, she is an inspiration to the Open Rangers. She is beautiful and dedicated to doing good.

    He has a lot a emotion in his voice.

    Sue Barlow, she is an interesting person.

    No, it is a classic, but a sad story.

    Lassiter because he has a high moral code and love for family, friends, children and eventually God.

    It gave me an extreme reaction that dedication ( not religion ) , but closeness to God, love and family always wins.

    Yes, I would recommend this book to friends. It is an epic novel of the American west and Mormon corruption.

    Where does True Grit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    True Grit is for Western genre is the best book of it's type. The story is very memorable, a true tale of the post Civil War frontier. From Maddie's Christian living, the Texas Rangers pride for the Lone Star State to Rooster Cogburn's hard exterior, tender heart, and strict way of law and order, True Grit is America in the late 1800's.


    What was one of the most memorable moments of True Grit?

    Rooster riding alone, just him and Bo ( his horse ), with reigns in teeth and both guns shooting against Ned Peppers entire gang. Rooster fights fearless and true to save a girl.


    What does Donna Tartt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Donna brings a lot of emotion and does a great job doing men's voices.


    If you could take any character from True Grit out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Rooster just to hear his life story.

    I am very glad that this book was rereleased, the movie was my Dad's favorite.

    Grace. We talk as though we understand the term. The bank gives us a grace period. The seedy politician falls from grace. Musicians speak of a grace note. We describe an actress as gracious, a dancer as graceful. We use the word for hospitals, baby girls, kings, and pre-meal prayers. We talk as though we know what grace means. But do we really understand it? Have we settled for wimpy grace? It politely occupies a phrase in a hymn, fits nicely on a church sign. Never causes trouble or demands a response.
