I am a fan of Tami Hoag's. This is a good listen, but "The Messenger" gets a higher rating from me. The multiple plot twists kept me very interested and wanting to put the next CD in. Good character development, although it's hard to believe that the main character would be as naive as portrayed. I would recommend this title, but if you haven't listened to Hoag before, check out some of her previous work.
Although it has a slow start in which the world appears to be against the main character, hang in there for plot twists and turns the are interwoven and difficult to anticipate. There are many characters, so attention is required, but that wasn't a problem with this narrator. The narration was excellent with a voice that drew the listener into the story. I admit to being a Harlan Coban fan and this one did not dissapoint!!
Great characters, fast paced, interesting twists. Keeps you interested from the first hour to the last. Good narration, easy to listen. Put this on on your wish list.
So far, this has been my favorite of the last 3 audiobooks about the Stephanie Plum character. I started with Hard Eight and haven't backed up to the earlier ones yet, but I'm planning on it! I found myself actually laughing out loud while listening. The narration is great, making the individual characters have their distinct personalities. If you want a deep, thought provoking book, don't get this one. But if you're wanting some strange characters, crazy plot twists and laughs then you'll like "Ten Big Ones."
After reading all the rave reviews, maybe my expectations were too high. An entire life span is alot to cover in one book, and there were times that I wished the character development would have deepened. Richly imaginative and a departure from most of the other novels out there, it is a nice way to spend some time.
