In this novel from number-one New York Times-best-selling author J. D. Robb, the newly promoted captain of the NYPSD and his wife return a day early from their vacation, looking forward to spending time with their bright and vivacious 16-year-old daughter, who stayed behind. Not even their worst nightmares could have prepared them for the crime scene that awaits them inside.

    Overall

As an Avid reader of the In Death Series I was thrilled to be able to Listen to this book. As I have never really listened to an Audio book before. I was very pleased at how Susan really brought the charaters to life. I can't wait for the next one. As the Supporting Charaters are really starting to come into there own I'm waiting to see if Nora is thinking of spin off books using some of the supporting staff. I think E.D.D. could have a spin off Having Roark make a cameo apperance or even Baxter and Trueheart on one of there own cases. And I really like the New charater she introduced (Jamie) he will make a great Detective some day in his own right maybe she could use him in future editions.

I was dissappointed that the wedding scene wasn't really givin more attention. The Monroe wedding as really been getting built up in the previous three editions and for it to be just in the epilog and not even letting Loise walk down the isle I was really upset. but I understand they are just support charaters but I feel they are really as intrigule to the series as our Darling Eve.
