Dr. Kay Scarpetta, now freelancing with the National Forensic Academy in Florida, takes charge of a case that stretches from steamy Florida to snowbound Boston, one as unnerving as any she has ever faced. The teasing psychological clues lead Scarpetta and her team, Pete Marino, Benton Wesley, and Lucy Farinelli, to suspect that they are hunting someone with a cunning and malevolent mind whose secrets have kept them in the shadows, until now.

I have read most of the books in this series. This was not up to par in my opinion; lots of gory details, but the plot was flat and disjointed. The whole story did not have a completeness, it was like several short stories thrown together around a "bad guy" to fill the publisher's need for a new book.
I wouldn't bother with it in retrospect. There are many, much more well written books of the same genre out.
I did by accident have the abriged version, this could have had some effect.

It's a story tailor-made for the nightly news: Dylan Meserve and Michaela Brand, young lovers and fellow acting students, vanish on the way home from a rehearsal. Three days later, the two of them are found in the remote mountains of Malibu, battered and terrified after a harrowing ordeal at the hands of a sadistic abductor.

    "Disappointing & Gross"
    Overall

I have been an avid reader of J. Kellerman for years and this is undoubtably his worst effort to date. While it has a good start & Milo Sturgis is his entertaing self, it turns into droning narrative descriptions like bad Beat Poetry. From there it becomes a stomach turning read full of unnessecary grotesque writing. Ketterman blew it with this one. Unless you like the truly gross, don't bother.
It seems as if Kellerman, like many other popular authors, is churning out books with petty content & quantity and not quality in mind. This can be the demise of an artist.

The Dupayne, a small private museum in London, is in turmoil. As its trustees argue over whether it should be closed, one of them is brutally and mysteriously murdered. Yet even as Commander Adam Dalgliesh and his team proceed with their investigation, a second corpse is discovered. Someone in the Dupayne is prepared to kill and kill again. Still more sinister, the murders appear to echo the notorious crimes of the past featured in one of the museum's galleries: the Murder Room.

    Jim says: "Classic P.D. James"
    "Great Mystery!"
    Overall

This is the best mystery I've "read" in some time.
The plot is great not giving one the ability to guess who did what or why. It reveals itself at a good pace and held my interest as well as being an extremely enjoyable read in the company of some great characters.
Hats off to Ms. James' effort!

Just as patients are about to be released with a clean bill of health, their conditions take a devastating turn for the worse. Accompanied by the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, Yuki Castellano, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer probes deeper into the incidents. Could these cases just be appalling coincidences? Or is a maniac playing God with people's lives? When someone close to the Women's Murder Club begins to exhibit the same frightening symptoms, Lindsay fears no one is safe.

I'm not a huge fan of "The Women's Murder Club", but this book had my attention form beginning to end - where I was somewhat surprised.
An enjoyable, at times tense mystery with great characters.
