Cent has a secret. She lives in isolation, with her parents, hiding from the people who took her father captive and tortured him to gain control over his ability to teleport, and from the government agencies who want to use his talent. Cent has seen the world, but only from the safety of her parents' arms. She's teleported more than anyone on Earth, except for her mother and father, but she's never been able to do it herself. Her life has never been in danger. Until the day when she went snowboarding without permission and triggered an avalanche. When the snow and ice thundered down on her, she suddenly found herself in her own bedroom.

If you could sum up Impulse in three words, what would they be?

    Fun, exciting, fast paced

Which character – as performed by Emily Rankin – was your favorite?

I thoroughly enjoyed the main character.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book, and in fact the whole series, to anyone. Way better than the JUMPER movie. All the books have been fun, fresh, interesting and compelling.

Until the day I met John Smith, Number Four, I'd been on the run alone, hiding and fighting to stay alive. Together, we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate to find the others.... I went to Spain to find Seven, and I found even more, including a tenth member of the Garde who escaped from Lorien alive. Ella is younger than the rest of us, but just as brave. Now we're looking for the others - including John. But so are they....

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

my favorite character was Ella. Even though she is just being introduced I found her character interesting and wanted to follow her growth.

    Any additional comments?

I did enjoy this book but the characters sometimes took a long time to recognize the obvious. Even allowing for the age of the characters it sometimes seemed ridiculous that they did not see things in front of them.

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast.

It was kind of a slow start and I found the narrator a little boring (slow) at first. As the story developed the narrator grew on me and now I can associate her with the main character....her voice and pace do fit the main character. I did enjoy the story and the supporting characters.

Where does Brisingr rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    top 5

What other book might you compare Brisingr to and why?

I would compare Brisingr (and the whole Inheritance series) to Wheel of Time. This story is just as epic and has a rounded cast of characters, with more than one storyline at a time.

    Any additional comments?

It had been a while since I listened to book 2 so I was a little leary about trying to pick the story back up in book 3. I need not have worried! The story does a good job of refreshing the listeners memory about things that happened in previous books without completely retelling the story. I was able to get right back into the story and move forward with the characters. I enjoyed this book very much and am looking forward the final segment.

The star is none other than ruggedly handsome—and notoriously badly behaved—Thad Perry. The money is good but something smells fishy....

At last, in the novel every Kelley Armstrong fan will need to own, all the major heroines and heroes of Otherworld are united. It's been 10 years since Bitten, the first novel in Kelley Armstrong's New York Times best-selling Otherworld series. In that time hundreds of thousands of fans have ravenously devoured the adventures of Armstrong's witches, demons, and werewolves. Now, in Spell Bound, she brings them all together for her most sweeping tale yet.

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the book although it took a while to get used to the narrators voice.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Story was slow moving at first.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

yes, story was slow moving in the beginning

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I did see the movie. That was probably part of the problem with the narration...I had preconceived notions as to what the characters sounded like.

    Any additional comments?

I am willing to listen to the next book in the series, even though I had a lukewarm reaction to this book. Part of the problem with seeing a movie before reading/listening to the book. I did enjoy the 2nd half of the book more than the first.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

First book was so disappointing I didn't even try the 2nd book. Sorry I paid for it first!

    Any additional comments?

This will teach me to purchase more than one book in a series until I've actually listened to it. I generally like series so I can have several books that tell the story in a continuing manner. However, the first book was so disappointing I didn't have any interest in the second. I'm sorry I purchased it before listening to the first one!
