Thank you Audible for this free book. It was so fun to check my e-mail and find your gift. Listening to books is such a special treat. Happy Holidays!
I have to say the narrator's voice was very annoying. Her reading was a bit too dramatic for my taste. There were many times I was ready to give up on the audio version, and go to the print, but I persisted.
I was disappointed in the quality of the writing. I agree with a previous listener that it was more appropriate as a young adult selection..
The book did, however, prompt me to do further reading about Charles Lindbergh.
I am finding that Lionel Shriver is quickly becoming my favorite contemporary author. This is definitely worth the listening time. The only drawback to the narration is that I sometimes had difficulty telling the difference between the two main characters when being read.
I am a fan of Morning Joe and was looking forward to this book. I have a strong interest in the obesity epidemic. This was a "fluff" book on the topic. I would recommend the book "Fat Chance" if you are interested in a science based look at obesity.
I would definitely listen to this book again. So interesting. Couldn't put my iPod down!
I liked the fact, that not only did I learn about James Garfield, but also about other people during that era, such as Alexander Graham Bell.
This book is not just for history lovers, but everyone.
The narrator, David LeDoux, does a superb job reading this story. Anyone who listened to The Corrections will find this novel even better.
I alway enjoy Lee Child novels and this one was no exception. Worth the credit!
This inside account of what went on during the 2008 presidential election was quite an eye opener. There were many things I already knew, but just as much new information that I was unaware of.
I was confused by what exactly was the author trying to convey to the listeners. Korean women? Wall Street? Cheating partners? Fashion Industry? I listened to this book and walked away wondering what had I just listened to?
The plot had me hooked early on, but I actually "fast forward" through some of the scenes due to violence and some of the unnecessary sexual content.
