I am a huge fan of Ken Follett so am somewhat biased, however on this occasion I think he deserves all the praise he gets. It is a long book with many characters in whose lives you become immersed. I never got bored or wished away a single word or sentence. The narration was excellent. It is an epic story and worth more than 1 credit!
I enjoyed listening to this novel. It was pure escapism, not the best plot I've ever heard, but still one that kept me interested. I thought the narration was very good, the accents exceptional, especially "Hawk" and "Stoke".
Joyce Bean narrates this story unbelievably well; the characters come to life with the different intonations. It was an easy listen and had moments of suspense and intrigue. Although I don't have a serious criticism, I just didn't find it that entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It kept me entertained and gripped for 2 days and I couldn't wait to get my headset on and into the car. The plot was fast moving albeit a bit far-fetched in certain places. I overlooked those details because of the sheer pace of the story. Brilliantly narrated, although the accents were not that good.
A very different type of story. The story line was clever and unique, albeit a slightly weak. I did enjoy it though because it was never predictable. Beautifully narrated, one of the best I've ever listened to.
A very badly written book. The blasphemy and foul language was totally unnecessary and added nothing to the story. The plot was weak and I couldn't wait for the book to end. A total waste of money.
