very interesting and enjoyable story, clear presentation, draws a picture and entertains - the strong characters, a villan with whom one can empathise, a secondary villan who's vileness is reprehensible... thanks
This story needed either 2 narrators, or one with more vocal range and skill. Not that it was an easy task for the narrator, that, I do acknowledge.
Lovable conniving Daniel, 3 talented granddaughters and a missio .in some parts it felt like I was missing some family knowledge, and that was cut or left out to keep the book to within a certain size, the same with the wind up it felt convenient rather than realistic which was a little disappointing given the brilliance of most of Nora Roberts books.
95% wonderful, good chuckles, heat and angst, just as the characters have depth. Thanks for inviting us back within the lives of the McGregor crew.
This was not a story requiring a happy ending to be moving, the empathy displayed by Robyn Carr for the various senarios through which her characters journey are accurate to the journeys I hear working on a crisis line as a counselor. Well done for the sadness, the accuracy, the joy and the grief. As I said to a couple of fellow Audible mates, 1/2 a box of tissues required!
this was a break away from the style of Robyn Carr books that I've been addicted to, and I admit to being somewhat dubious as to whether I'd enjoy the experience - why did I worry, as per normal she does not disappoint!
Just a joy to listen to Cristina Moore, this is the first book I've heard her narrate and I'd love to thank her for making the listener feel the emotions of the characters without feeling "For God's sake settle down" as can happen when overplayed.
Yes, and as I live with insomnia, there are times when I can do this, but I needed to savour this book, it was so fantastic I used it as my self-care for after each shift - such a wonderous escape into a realm of real women working together as only friends committed to a cause can do.
As above - give it a go, you will be as rapt as we have been of this I'm sure.
I've listened twice so far .... I'm really enjoying the reality and believability of each and every one of this series
Nora Roberts "Witness"
yes, this is the way to relax, not raced not monotone, thank you
yes, unfortunately I fell asleep and had to go back ....
Relaxing - humorous - slice of life back into these wonderful multifacieted characters lives, but also able to be read stand alone.
Pain, challenges, growth
The fear for loved ones, the compassion, love& support for each member of the congregation and the wider community
This needed to be read by someone who could feel the pain, not be controlled throughout. His story was so compelling, but he didn't seem able to show those feelings in the vocal..
Due to the controlled nature of the telling the places which should have moved me to tears left the grief internalised, it also dampened the joy od conquest.
please get another who can be free to vocalise the emotions to redo this as it would make good brilliant
impressed with the reader, felt drawn in, included, will be looking for others by other authors too, Nora of course did not let us down, thank you for the beauty of the pictures drawn so deeply, so graphically. looking forward to the next one.
Wow - Nanny is there any more books this is awesome and the person telling the story changes their voice for the different owls. It's got some really good scary parts. I beat nanny listening to it. I can't wait to get the other books. I have to earn them. I asked my Nanny to tell them I like this awesomely (per nanny - thanks guys, I got this based on your recommendation and am rapt with the enjoyment my grandson has got from it. He's also asked to get the books so he can read it at the same time. Audio books has helped tweek his interest in reading. Great job - thanks)
thank you for the quality of storyteller and for presenting such a great story, I will definitely look for more books by this author and also read by this presenter. Not raced, storyline good twists, all prepared to detest the villian ... damn, he's not unlikable! Really glad I downloaded it.
