Timeless humor made me laugh out loud (rather awkward at the gym).
The quality of the recording was great. David Hyde Pierce made a great reader.
I've adored Jeff Dunham for years (since his Tonight Show appearance) and it's inspirational listening to how he has persisted and achieved his goals. If you want to learn about having a passion and wanting to push forward to achieve your goals, and not give up when things go wrong, listen to this book.
If you love Jeff and the characters, listen to this book. He throws in some of the bits that just make me laugh out loud.
Plus there's some very cool facts (Like Achmed's eyes. I won't give it away tho).
The sound quality is excellent, and it's in one big segment (i personally don't care if it's in one or multiple...just saying)
I read Dune in '83 and have loved the myth of Dune. It's a great "read" and it's nice to listen to it since it is such a long novel.
As others have said, and I agree, it's a bit jarring to go from narrator to acted out scene. It felt like there were at least 2-3 recordings that were stitched together. If I'm going to listen to acted out scenes, I tend to take the voices as queues for the characters, and it was difficult for me to follow along in some passages because they kept switching amongst the recordings.
Quality wise, the recordings are clean and smooth and you don't notice any transitions.
When I purchased this, I didn't realize it was taken from two other books. However, I'm glad I bought it since it reminds me of the highlights of the other two. How to Win Friends and Influence People and How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. I did get more out of his stories with this than I had in re-listening... I guess the brain likes to mix things up.
The audio quality was great.
And it's funny how similar the problems were then that we are facing now: lack of jobs, fear, wanting to build true relationships.
I'd recommend if you're looking to do some introspection and wanting to better your life through your connections.
