Seeing the Blues attempt to fight back.
Crow and Riggs meeting after all the years, and seeing what Crowe had done to himself in his fear over Riggs and Star Force.
General Kerr being caught by Star Force.
When Crowe attempts to kill Jasmine.
A good book. Again you can see its just a set up book for whats to come. But its by no means a bad book!!! Riggs has grown and changed a lot since the beginning. He is still having to come to terms over Sandra and hopefully with this he can finally close that chapter and move on to face the Macros and Blues. The Macros have been awfully quiet and I think they will be back with a vengeance since they failed to take Earth.
We finally get to know exactly what Agent Franks is and its more than you expect.
Pretty much any of the other Monster Hunter books, which are all very good.
He just nails Franks. Gruff bullish and doesn't much care about you unless he gets to hit you, preferably many times
It was very enjoyable, laughing once in a while but crying no not really but Agent Franks does grow more as a character. The loss of his son, and mentor have an effect on him. And his descendants????
Oh yes I enjoy Simon R Green the Darkside series and Secret Histories series are very good but each series has weaker entries
Yes Mr Green is very talented and I have been meaning to try Hawk and Fisher series just not enough time
Very good on differentiation on the Characters voices.
Probably one of the weaker stories. But still its Eddie and Molly against the world much as in the First book. To me it seemed like the ending was anti climactic in this book. But it didn't seem to do much to advance the over reaching plot of why Molly's parents were killed by the Droods. Though the Matriarch does seem to have plans for Eddie from beyond the Grave. That could prove interesting. Looking forward to the next book!
The characters as always. Widget and the Captain being the most fun. Though Molly is up there too.
Obviously Captain Reynolds. Captain Reynolds tries to do the right things but he keeps getting tripped up. The Nanotech cliff hangar from the previous book was done a bit Deus Ex Machina but the whole series is kinda of that way. Its not a bad thing though.
Mr Ganser does a good job as usual.
Its a good book for a long ride or a trip. Its enjoyable and interesting and keeps you guessing.
If you don't like Cliff Hangars all the books end with them.
Its nice to see Sally step up to lead a story. But the main subtext is where the HELL IS BILL!!!! But its still a very entertaining read and the end is a very nice payoff. Sally grows a lot as a character in this book and should make her even more so going forward.
A brief word to Mr Du Brul. Some of us are still waiting for you to keep your promise on returning to a certain Geologist AKA Phillip Mercer, it been 8 years........
Very good Oregon novel. Better than the last few I hate to say it but to me this was a bit better than the last Dirk Pitt book. Topical and timely in its fiction with the Far East as the area most involved in the story. I will very much recommend this book to any Cussler fan.
Not a bad second book for the series. It was nice to see Tommy is still around and that Nathan still has some other friends around. The Werewolf pack was fun but the story lacked some of the punch the first book had to me. Still a good listen and I would still recommend this to other fans of the genre. The idea that Nathan is friends with Hades I found slightly funny as his depiction in the book is far from what history portrays him as. Its a fun ride and I eagerly await the next book.
Wow I have read Tom Clancy most of my adult life and I cant believe he is gone. This was a very good book. Just enough of both Jack jr and Jack Sr. With some nice new story of what the President got up to back in the CIA. It plays well with the current politics and was believable. I only wish Mr Clancy could be here to give us more!!!
It certainly suffers the middle book syndrome. But its still a good listen. If you like the characters and style its just fine. There are a few new wrinkles added and a minor mystery for now which could grow. This isn't meant to be a negative review and I don't want it to sound like it. This book sets the stage for whole lot more which could be interesting if played out right.
It was a good story. The characters aren't as compelling to me as in the Star Force series. But a very similar start. The only things we humans are good for in the universe is fighting is what the alien overlords think. I will get the next book to see how the plot develops.
Its nice to see some of the political intrigues getting finished up. Hopefully the Alliance will pull together again after some of the internal strife. Cant wait for the next book as usual.
Nice to see them (The Alliance) find more allies and scary to think that the Grik/Jap might have too.
