In the first edition of this landmark book, business loyalty guru Fred Reichheld revealed the question most critical to your company’s future: “Would you recommend us to a friend?” By asking customers this question, you identify detractors, who sully your firm’s reputation and readily switch to competitors, and promoters, who generate good profits and true, sustainable growth. You also generate a vital metric: your Net Promoter Score.

Benjamin Franklin is the founding father who winks at us - an ambitious urban entrepreneur who rose up the social ladder, from leather-aproned shopkeeper to dining with kings. In best-selling author Walter Isaacson's vivid and witty full-scale biography, we discover why Franklin turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind his new-fangled spectacles. In Benjamin Franklin, Isaacson shows how Franklin defines both his own time and ours. The most interesting thing that Franklin invented, and continually reinvented, was himself.

Would you consider the audio edition of Benjamin Franklin: An American Life to be better than the print version?

Don't know. I do know that I really enjoyed the story and would certainly recommend it. I didn't have no idea the complexity of his life. I appreciate him even more now.

What did you like best about this story?

The variety of info. It wasn't just about this guy who impacted lives with inventions, electricity and politics. It was about family, friends and virtues.

What does Nelson Runger bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Through voice inflection, I understood what I should pay closer attention to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nothing specifically but I was saddened when I realized his namesake ended and nobody carried his name.

    Any additional comments?

Excellent book.. I'll likely listen to it a second time,

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Would you consider the audio edition of Steve Jobs to be better than the print version?

This is the geeky kind of fun stuff I just love. Someone gets a good idea and someone puts the pieces together to make it a business. I've had the opportunities to do this but only to have a person hired to manage me and reverse what I'd done. This guy, his team, his focus, his absolute Jerk attitude you end up growing to love and wishing you could do it nearly as good. I can't stop listening to it. Its playing on my bluetooth all the time. Even my wife who HATES business books says "Hey, lets turn that book on" Cool !

What did you like best about this story?

Pixar and Disney stories. Its fun to hear about what we love.

Have you listened to any of Dylan Baker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I immediately looked for more. He's Awesome.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Dam right !

    Any additional comments?

I wish he wouldn't have died, I'd have bought the sequel.
