"Landscape Turned Red"
One of the best accounts of the Battle of Antietam that I've ever read. The book is amazingly detailed. It's clear that an incredible amount of research went into the writing of this book, including the most detailed account of the Battle of South Mountain I have yet read. A must read for any true Civil War Buff who is interested in the who, what, when and why of a battle
"Engrossing"
Lee's greatest victory
Brilliantly told story of one of the most complex campains of the Civil War .Well detailed and researched . Anyone no matter what their level of knowledge of civil war history will find this book entertaining .
I haven't listen to any of his books before . But I fiound his unusual and dramatic style entertaining and added greatly to my enjoyment of this book. I think the narrator is one of my very favourites .

"One of the best books I've read on Gettysburg"
The readers casual style made combined with Mr. Sears style of prose made for an enjoyable listening experience.
The battle of Gettysburg was the greatest battle ever fought in the Western Hemisphere., and one of the most studied. The author puts together regimental histories peronal memoirs and other historical data and turns it into a beautifully written narrative which even a novice student of the american civil war will enjoy. The book encompasses the entire gettysburg campaign and is a must read for anyone who wants more than a rudimentary history of the civil war.
"The David Duke history of the Civil War"
What a waste of time. The author glosses over the estimated 550,000 deaths caused by these traitors to their country. The author would like us to believe that slavery would have died eventually in the CSA of it's owen volition. Yeah right. This book contain nothing new about the Civil War, but seems to try to justify the South's secession. I would suggest Battle Cry of Freedom if you would like to know why the South started the war.
"The battle of gettysburg"
It was interesting to get the perspective of someone who was at the battle. The book was written a short time after the battle, and therefore only contains those events the author was witness to. Thus the lack of detail about the first day of the battle and the fighting on Culp's hill. The main problem I had with the book was the terrible sound quality of the recording though the narrative was quite interesting.
