Stephen Leeds, AKA 'Legion,' is a man whose unique mental condition allows him to generate a multitude of personae: hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills. As the story begins, Leeds and his 'aspects' are drawn into the search for the missing Balubal Razon, inventor of a camera whose astonishing properties could alter our understanding of human history and change the very structure of society.

This is one of the most powerful short stories that I have ever read. Brandon Sanderson was already one of my favorite authors, but this story blew even me away.
Some of the things that were interesting to me:

The hints of the main character's back story.
The exploration of multiple personalities in one person.
The interaction between faith and science.

The last one of these is the most fascination to me. As a man of faith myself I have read books that tackle the seeming discrepancy between science and faith, but none which do it so powerfully.

And, since this book is free, You should definitely get it.
It will not be a waste of your time.

I heard that Jim Butcher wrote this book after he boasted that he could write anything and someone dared him to write a book that mixed Pokemon and Rome.
I think that Jim won the dare. Awesome book.

In the 10th year of the Change, the survivors in western Oregon have learned how to live in a world without technology. They have held the Lord Protector, Norman Arminger - the warlord of Portland - at bay. The tensions between these factions have been building for some time, and the only reason they haven't confronted one another on the battlefield is because Arminger's daughter has fallen into Clan Mackenzie's hands. But Lady Sandra has a plan to retrieve her, one that may spark open warfare.

The Change novels as a whole have been an idea that has fascinated me since the first time I stumbled across them while looking for a good new series. A Meeting at Corvallis is good end to first trilogy of the series. I was left satisfied with the story, and looking forward to what would come later.
What I like most about this series is that it is what would have happened if Tolkien had written a post apocalyptic book.
    I like...

Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is now on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds.Kelsier, Vin, Elend, Sazed, Spook, and the rest are now part of history—or religion. Yet the old magics of Allomancy and Feruchemy continue to play a role in this reborn world....

This is a great story set in the Mistborn world that takes all of the qualities of that series and places them in a Industrializing world with guns and trains and electricity. Brandon Sanderson and outdone himself again. The only complaint that I have about this book is the fact that it is so short. I listened to it in less then two days of casual listening and was thirsty for more.
Another thing that I liked about this was that it reminded me of a Sherlock Holmes story, but with a Sanderson twist.
I like, and I want more!

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Protectors war is the second in the series by S. M. Stirling and it continues the great story that Dies the Fire began. 5 stars to Performance, and 4 to story, simply because it is a little different then what I usually read and I found a few parts to be a little strange. But 5 overall stars because it is a great book that I would highly recommend.

In his acclaimed Codex Alera novels, best-selling author Jim Butcher has created a fascinating world in which the powerful forces of nature take physical form. For millennia, the people of Alera have used their unique bond with these elementals for protection. Now, as enemies become allies, and friends become bitter foes, a danger beyond reckoning looms. . . .

The narration is tremendous, as all of Kate Reading's works are, and the story is intriguing and original. Kudos to both! This is a must read if I have ever read one. So you should definitely read it.... :)

The hero is anyone who has ever longed for escape to a better life. The time is tomorrow. The place is a Utopian America. This is the backdrop for Edward Bellamy's prophetic novel about a young Boston gentleman who is mysteriously transported from the nineteenth to the twenty-first century, from a world of war and want to a world of peace and plenty.

Looking Backwards is a classic of the late 19th and early 20th centuries which contains some of the early ideas of what would become the socialist movement. It is a Utopian novel in which a man form the 18th century is transported to the 21st. I think it is a fascinating picture into the 18th century mindset of what a perfect culture society could be.
To me this is not a book about what 'should' be, but instead it is about what 'could have been.'
The narration is crisp, if a bit fast passed, though to me this fits.
Overall I liked this version of the book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting glimpse into a possible version of our world today as dreamed up by a 18th century author.

This is the remarkable story of the English language; from its beginnings as a minor guttural Germanic dialect to its position today as a truly established global language. The Adventure of English is not only an enthralling story of power, religion, and trade, but also the story of people, and how their lives continue to change the extraordinary language that is English.

I was also impressed with the narrators ability to pronounce the words and really bring the history of the English language to life. Thank you audible for an amazing listen!
