Ryan was an unexpected delight, and not at all the usual "hot guy" who appears in so many YA books. He was amazingly human, kind and genuine, and I loved his persistence in getting to know Jenna.
The tears kept running down my face as the author tapped into my own long ago memories of feeling ugly and rejected.
This was the first in the series I've listened to, but it won't be the last.
The adults sounded like idiots, and many of the "high school" students sounded like congested grade schoolers.
It ties right into Divergent and continues on with the story. I'm looking forward to part 3.

If you're still panting for more Ash & Meagan, you'll be satisfied with how the story progresses. It continues with lots of twists & turns and it's a great adventure overall. I read all 4 books and listened to them as well. Both media go hand in hand in the sense that audio brings the story to life, while print confirms the nuances of whether or not things were actually said, or just thought. I liked the series enough that I listened to it more than once and thoroughly enjoyed it each time.

This story picks up once Ship arrives at its destination, and humanity with its strengths and weaknesses plays out. It's a new world as promised, but not everything is sunshine & roses as the different personalities struggle to lead the settlers to a successful transition.
