The righteous Fae of the Seelie Court cherish an ancient quarrel with their Dark counterparts: a curse born of anger and deceit. The Unseelie Court will perish unless one of its princes can win a woman's love - honestly, without coercion. And love her wholly in return.

I am so very impressed with the narrator - Helen Stern. I could listen to her all day long.
This book was Harlequin and then it wasn't. Yes, hot&steamy all the way but well written and such an extensive vocabulary one doesn't see even in literary books. I am not knocking the author down but truly didn't expect such a well written romance novel.
I enjoyed the plot and could listen to Thane...well, forever. :) Absolutely fantastic narration.

"My name is Megan Chase. In less than 24 hours, I'll be 17. Although, technically, I won't actually be turning 17. I've been in the Nevernever too long. When you're in Faery, you don't age. So while a year has passed in the real world, agewise I'm probably only a few days older than when I went in. In real life, I've changed so much I don't even recognize myself."

I really like the series and although I am not addicted as I was to Twilight, I am a follower of the series. It is a great story line, well developed characters, and it gets me out of my daily bore in to a world of fairy folk. Can't ask for more. Author is great. Narration is also very good.

A telepathic hunter of serial killers, Raven Whitney helps to catch some of the most depraved criminals. But her work keeps her from getting close to others, and has drained her body and spirit. In need of rest and rejuvenation, she embarks for a vacation far from home. Mikhail Dubrinsky is the prince of the Carpathians, the powerful leader of a wise and secret ancient race that thrives in the night. From the moment they meet, Raven and Mikhail are helpless to resist the desire that sparks between them. But just as fate unexpectedly brings these life mates together, malevolent forces threaten to destroy them.

"Could have been so much better"
    Overall

To start with...the narrator was absolutely fantastic! I have a soft spot for Phil Gigante but Abby Craden was even better because she was able to do an excellent job even with the male voices. FANTASTIC!
The story line was good and could have been great. Truthfully, if I hear "possession" one more time - I am going to puke! If you're a female who enjoys being "possessed" by a male, then go for it. It irked me to no end. The heroine is smart but stupid, Mikael gentle but possessive. How idiotic. She kept saying she has a mind but acted like a stupid ditsy girl. He kept saying he wants to accommodate her independence but when it came down to it, it was "do as I say or I will take over and do it for you!"
I really like the story but was greatly annoyed by the two main characters. I had also listened to another Feehan novel (out of sequence) with a similar annoyance ( so, I haven't learned my lesson!) and this one seemed to be the first of the series. But, it was added very recently. It made the whole storyline a little confusing for me.
Overall, if you can manage the cons, there is none better than Feehan to write those steamy scenes. But, beware of being 'possessed'.

    J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels have introduced readers to a "different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing" (All About Romance) world. Now, as the vampire warriors defend their race against their slayers, one male's loyalty to the Brotherhood will be tested - and his dangerous mixed blood revealed.

This is on my top 3 J.R. Ward bests. Who knew Revenge was such a "male of worth"! I always saw him as the drug dealing jerk. Until... of course....Elena comes and rescues him. Overall, it was good. Also got a good view of the Sympath thing. Makes more sense with a lot of the stuff now.

Until fate intervenes and she discovers that love, like destiny, is inevitable.

    Overall

This one is the best of all! I can't stop listening to it. Couldn't believe how well the story developed and how tenderly it all tied together at the end. But, could J.R. Ward please give a break to poor Leila? I think she's going to hook her up with Murder after the Pain novel which comes out mid this year. Well, at least I hope so.
And, all those review who say they were sickened by Quinn and Blay? Boo for you! Love story is a love story. Granted, I am not too sure if I'd like to hear the details in the bed chamber but it is a story worth exploring. Hmmmm, will they ever end up together?

    "Series' line Development "Book""
    Overall

Liked this one least of all but it wasn't a bad one. Mostly, this book was slow. The story line wasn't just of Phury but all the other characters developing so that the rest of the books in the series also make sense. For that reason alone, it wasn't the high action, let's kick some butt and have a "female" didn't work so well.
Was definitely nice to explore into Phury and his serious psychological issue(s). As with the rest of the series, the male has problems although Phury's was the worst of all but Z. But, as always the female saves her male.

From his penthouse lair high above Manhattan, Dageus looks out over a glittering city that calls to the darkness within him. A 16th-century Scot trapped between worlds, he is fighting a losing battle with the 13 Druids who possess his soul, dooming him to an eternity of sexual pursuit. When Chloe Zanders, student of antiquities, is drawn into his world, she finds the insatiable alpha male an irresistible lure.

    "Mediocre and certainly no Gabaldon!"
    Overall

There are steamy novels that revolve the sex around the main story line and then there is the Dark Highlander. The steamy was really everywhere overwhelming the story line. Phil Gigante is absolutely brilliant when he's the male characters but is disappointing as the female voice(s). Females come across as whiny and just plain old dumb. I really liked the actual story line when it manages to emerge from the "big huge hunky male" blah, blah, blah...
If you're looking for yet another Gabaldon equal - NOT even close!

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil. A vampire has attacked a girls' school---the assault one of sheer, vicious madness---and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood.

Bought this in paperback as soon as it came out and now listening to it. Nalini Singh could have written another 300 pages and I would have read it with just as much anticipation. The ending came way too soon. Good twists but there was much more steaminess on this one than the previous two novels. I am not complaining...
I would really like to have seen more of the last 1/3 of the book develop but oh well. Guess I am a slave to buy the 4th for that.

Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he'd ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world.

Brenda says: "Could stand alone in the series"
    "Up and down"
    Overall

Since I have turned in to a sucker for Highlander stories after Gabaldon, I thought this book would be similar. The story line certainly is. But, as with my first miserable attempt, this one falls way short as well.
For what it is though - it was a somewhat enjoyable book.
1 - the "cherry picker" thing is just not eloquent at all.
2 - Phil Gigante - OMG - he's a narrator god! He can just read anything and hopefully in that Scottish accent and I will buy it!!!
3 - For a 'genius' she sure was stupid. And, although Gigante was a god in terms of Drustan, he did not do well with the female charachter. She came across as whiny and annoying. Couple of times, I just wanted to smack her up side the head.
4 - Inconsistencies with the story line in a few spots but who cares, right? I mean I wasn't listening to this because it was a literary thing...
I about wanted to puke toward the end - with the whiny/annoying voice she said "Drustan, oh my love" and that just took it over the edge.
    Those are the negatives.
Positives - easy to listen to - no brain power necessary.
The story line is not too shabby.
Threw out a few curve balls I didn't expect - nice to be surprised.
And - if Drustan's brother ever turns out, hopefully around this century - many a lassies would be interested.
    Overall, nice enough read.

Classic Ward novel. I enjoyed learning about the tattoos and other things about V. I thought the ending sucked though. A ghost? Come on....
