  • Plum Village Meditations

    • NONE (1 hr and 19 mins)
    • By Thich Nhat Hanh, Sister Jina van Hengel
    • Narrated By Thich Nhat Hanh, Sister Jina van Hengel

Join in meditations developed at one of the world's great meditation centers and gain ideal support for a daily mindfulness practice. Here are 4 authentic meditations from Plum Village, the celebrated Zen sanctuary and peace center founded by Thich Nhat Hanh in southern France. Hanh is a meditation master who Thomas Merton has described as "the Zen monk who sees beyond life and death." These inspiring guided meditations teach conscious breathing for calming the mind and cultivating joy, body appreciation and attunement practice, and how to transform your anger into seeds of kindness.

    Catherine says: "not for beginners"
    "Beautifully recorded, incredibly blissful"

I agree with the previous reviews that some experience in meditation is helpful, yet with time and practice concentrating on your breathing between the bells of Plum Village becomes effortless... Thich's introduction in itself, though short, is already worth the entire audiobook...

The second part of the audio, recorded by Sister Jina, is amazing!!! Her voice is so sweet that I would listen to her forever... Her proposed exercises are very easy to follow and very calming and soothing.

That was certainly one of my greatest acquisitions in! Thank you, Audible! Please continue to publish more of these...

  • Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By David Allen
    • Narrated By David Allen
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

From core principles to proven tricks, Getting Things Done has the potential to transform the way you work - and the way you experience work. At any level of implementation, David Allen's entertaining and thought-provoking advice shows you how to pick up the pace without wearing yourself down.

Greta says: "Get the "Paper Book" instead."
    "I couldn't stand his voice..."

David speaks so fast and anxiously that I couldn't hear more than ten minutes of this audio... He will spend quite a few minutes of your time boasting himself of his many clients, his astounding and brilliant work, his competence... Too much pride to stand...
Yet I rated it two stars because I am sure he has somethings good to tell you... If you can stand him, of course.

    Flavia says: "Very Helpful!"
    "Very Helpful!"

This book will enrich you with some interesting information about the nature of depression and other mental diseases and how some simple life changes can make a difference in your mood. If you want to learn some biology and how the human mind works, this book will also give you some technical explanations that might help you know yourself better. The author did an excellent job in this audiobook - you will listen to it as you are in one of his lectures. There are some "truths" here that you won't see published by the food or pharmaceutical industries... You will be surprised by some of the stories that the author brings in this book. I am now doing the author's "Six Weeks Program" and I am very satisfied with the results.

  • Beat Depression - 50 Things You Can Do Today: An Easy Self-Help Guide

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs)
    • By Paul Vincent
    • Narrated By Sarah Campbell

A feast of ideas, practical suggestions and background information on how you can improve your mood instantly, and get on with living your life. These step by step solutions are diverse, and not tied down to any one discipline. Start a new life today!

    Janet says: "A new slant"
    "This is a keeper!!!"

At first, I was very skeptical about this book; it seemed too simple for something very serious and complex. How wrong I was! "Beat Depression" will provide you with some simple suggestions that can improve your mood instantly in 100%!!! The listening was also very pleasant. I should tell you that the book is read by a Britanic native - because I am learning English in US, it was harder for me to understand it. Other than that, this book is awesome! Thanks,!
