"Why the irrational anger at Rondeau???"
I am only part way through this book but I am finding the latest annoying at best. Marla's Character seems to regress with each new book rather then grow. She comes across like a spoiled petulant child. I expected better. I enjoyed Jessica Almasy's narration of the first books but she seems to have changed her style in this book too and I am unclear as to why. For me a dissapointment so far hopefully the story improves.
"WOW"
This series is absolutely incredible. Down load the first and don't stop till you listen to the last.
"I decided to write one review...."
...for the entire series. Buy it Buy it Buy it!!!! Jacky Fabor is a character to end all characters. Pippi Longstocking, Anne of Green Gables and Huckleberry Finn all rolled into one. I must admit I was quite surprised to find the author was male. The entire series was swashbuckling fun from start to finish and pure joyful fanciful escapism. I hated to see the series come to an end.It is good to know there will be more and I can hardly wait. KUDO's to Katherine Kellgrin!! She is absolutely incredible what a talent!!! I truly believe her narration made for an incredible audio book. I am not surprised that two books from this series won 2010 Audie Awards.
"One Narrator too many...."
I absolutely adore Katherine Kellgren! The producers should never have had Kevin Free narrate as Carter he sounds effeminate can not do an english accent to save his life and ought not to have tried. Katherine has such a wide and diverse vocal ability it would have been a joy to listen to her narrate the entire book. Good story that was spoiled slightly by a poor choice of male narrator.
"This is a wonderful book"
I just could NOT stop listening. Well written and very well narrated. I could almost feel the cold hear the snow crunching and smell the wood fires. I find it absolutely amazing to read that other reveiwers are so offended by the sexually explicit language. The words weren't expletives or there to shock or attract readers Why is it so hard to believe that two young man facing death around any corner would have these thoughts. And, so hard to conceive that a romantic, rather dramatic, slightly foolish young artist and the son of a great poet would speak in such terms. Go ahead and download this book and enjoy every word of it. I truly do not believe you will be dissapointed.
"Great listen"
I really enjoyed this book. As usual Dick Hill was awesome. Greg Isles has the ability to make you really care about the characters in his books. The only thing missing was an epilogue. I wanted to know what happened to them all. But still a great listen.
"Where have you been andrew peterson ???!!!"
I absolutely could not stop listening to this book. Dick Hill as the narrator was the icing on the cake. The combination was perfect. The book was far fetched yet chillingly realistic what more could you ask from fiction.Yep its fiction folks....if you want totally realistic read the paper there is enough out there to keep you happy. The characters were fun and I think I am in love with Nathan. Look out Jack Reacher you have competition. All I can say is. Bring on the next in the series I will be the first in line downloading it.
"I think I might just be half in love with Jack"
Gotta love a great book and a great character. I am not one of your jaded snooty listeners I just love a good yarn and anything Dick Hill reads comes to life before your very ears. I could listen to Jack Reacher novels every day and never get bored. Keep them coming.
"Loved it!"
Harlan Coben is a master story teller. I have listened to every one of his books from audible. Wether it is part of a series or stand alone like this one I have never been dissapointed. "Gone For Good" twists and it turns and actually stunned me at the end. Maybe I am gullible or maybe I just love a good story who knows. I don't think you will be dissapointed if you purchase this book.
"Can't wait for more from this author!"
Twist and turns to the very end. Couldn't stop listening yet didn't want it to end. Where has this author been?? Jonathan Davis as usual brings life to every novel he narrates. This newcomer is a rising star. Can't wait to listen to more.
