  • Alice in Zombieland

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Gena Showalter
    • Narrated By Natalie Gold
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real.

Linda B says: "Fun! Actually something new!"
"Soooo not your typical zombie book. Awesome!"
Would you listen to Alice in Zombieland again? Why?

Oh heck yea! I loved it and I'm sure I will pick up on a few things I missef the first time. PLUS I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE 2ND ONE TO COME OUT ON AUDIBLE! I'll need to read it I'll be in withdrawal lol

What other book might you compare Alice in Zombieland to and why?

Poison Princess (the arcana chronicles) because it sucks you in just like this one and out of the now 36 books I've read in the last 5 months they are both in my top 5.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Gold – was your favorite?

I don't even know how to pick but i love kat because shes amazing and such good friend. Cole too obviously becuse he's so interesting nd hotttt. :) And ALICE because she is so brave, a smart a** in a good way, and shes the lead!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Ohh yes. Very addictive.

    Any additional comments?

Can wait for "Through the Zombie Glass" to come out on
Audible. You guys better have that book out in September of this year like everyone else will!

  • Sweet Reckoning: Sweet Trilogy, Book 3

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Wendy Higgins
    • Narrated By Erin Mallon
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Evil is running rampant, and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the Earth of the demons and their oppressive ways. The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous - especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting.

Crystal says: "Unforgivably Pointless Waste of Time"
"Such an amazing conclusion to a great trilogy!"
Would you listen to Sweet Reckoning again? Why?

    Already am right now :)

What other book might you compare Sweet Reckoning to and why?

Poison Princess and Endless Knight by Kresley Cole. I can't really explain why other than the great writing. I can't quite compare. Maybe it's because the Kresley Cole Arcana Chronicles deal with Tarot Cards and teens who represent the major Arcana trump cards and the nef in the Sweet trilogy represent demons. Also both "kids" in both series have supernatural power.

What does Erin Mallon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Erin does a great job with the accents and voices. She sounds very natural. I really like her as a narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A few but I'm not going to spoil it for people who haven't read it yet!

    Any additional comments?

    "It was a great book!"
What did you like about this audiobook?

It's a great listen altogether. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. The one thing I don't like is that AUDIBLE ONLY HAS BOOK ONE! There are 5 books or more in this series! The only thing I don't like is tI at Audible gives us the first in the series and none of the rest. I would have really liked to move seamlessly to the following books :( lol

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

It's not that kind of book but I do enjoy these fun kind of paranormal books :)

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

You can tell that the author is a bit new in the first book but it's written very well anyways. I'm sure the author will just keep on improving too!

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

I actually liked the narrator and that is really saying something because I'm very very picky about narrators. I enjoyed this narrator even though the voices she has sound somewhat similar at times. I also think she can improve too. I hope she narrates the future books.

Do you have any additional comments?

Worth a credit for sure. There's a world where "otherworldly" creatures (vamps, witches, werewolfs and some hybrids) live amongst humans. Theres romance, the paranormal, great characters and it's just a really great book. I might have to just buy book 2 on my Kindle :)

PhD student Natalie Porter had barely recovered from her first sight of the breathtakingly gorgeous Sevastyan before the professional hit man whisks her away to Russia, thrusting her into a world of extreme wealth and wanton pleasures.

Marian says: "Serial series = more expensive audiobook"

What did you love best about The Professional: Part 1?

Great story that pulls you in immediately and keeps you interested and the sex scenes are HOT!

What other book might you compare The Professional: Part 1 to and why?

Anything by Kresley Cole herself or my oher favorite Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. Other than that, no comparrison!

    Which scene was your favorite?

If I have to post just one it would be the scene in the maid's closet.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Umm I had a reaction but it wasn't crying lol. Maybe some laughing in there though ;-)

    Any additional comments?

  • Allegiant: Divergent Trilogy, Book 3

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Veronica Roth
    • Narrated By Emma Galvin, Aaron Stanford
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

Judy says: "What a let down!"
"It KILLS ME to rate this so low..."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I just cannot believe that this book was even written by Veronica Roth. I waited for this book like a child waits for Christmas morning and I was SO DISSAPOINTED. The story was terrible. The characters I have come to know and love like real people were almost nonexistent. Tobias was no longer the Dauntless bada*s he was, buta wimpy, emotionally broken little boy. Also where is the fiery, courageous Tris that we knew? The Tris I knew never would have let things happen the way they did. The whole GD theme of this book was absolute RUBBISH. I kept waiting for certain loose ends to be tied up and they never were. I myself could have written a better ending!

What could Veronica Roth have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

RE-WRITE IT. It seems like she just didn't put her all into this book. With such a huge fan following and people being so invested in the story, did she not know that we would see all the holes in it? She simply didn't do it justice. The plot and conclusion were ridiculous. Allegiant couldn't even hold my attention! I'm just in shock. The one redeeming quality of this book is simply EMMA GALVIN. She is by far my favorite narrator period. I swear though at times I could even hear her lack of passion for the book. Like she was doing an internal "WTF?!" in her head. Emma Galvin deserves better material.

Which character – as performed by Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford – was your favorite?

Tris, always Tris. But even she lacked the fire I loved so much about her character. However, as always Emma Galvin is amazing. Had it been another narrator I wouldn't have even kept listening.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Sadness and so so so much DISAPPOINTMENT. I feel cheated.

    Any additional comments?

I really wish I had stopped at book 2. Also I still love Emma Galvin (The Arcana Chronicles hollah!)
