I love to read and quilt. However I always have a problem trying to decide if I would rather read or quilt since I love them both. Audible has solved my problem. Now I can quilt and listen to my favorite books. I love it.

In 1999 in the Los Rios region of southern Chile, orthopedic surgeon, devoted wife, and loving mother Dr. Mary Neal drowned in a kayak accident. While cascading down a waterfall, her kayak became pinned at the bottom and she was immediately and completely submerged. Despite the rescue efforts of her companions, Mary was underwater for too long, and as a result, died. To Heaven and Back is Mary’s remarkable story of her life’s spiritual journey and what happened as she moved from life to death to eternal life, and back again.

In search of adventure, 29-year-old Conor Grennan traded his day job for a year-long trip around the globe, a journey that began with a three-month stint volunteering at the Little Princes Children's Home, an orphanage in war-torn Nepal. Conor was initially reluctant to volunteer, unsure whether he had the proper skill, or enough passion, to get involved in a developing country in the middle of a civil war. But he was soon overcome by the herd of rambunctious, resilient children.

Where does Little Princes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is defiantly at the top of my list of "must read" books. It was shocking hearing about the human trafficking taking place in Nepal and the lies parents are told as their children are taken away. Life in Nepal is something I can't even imagine, however as Conor tells of his life among these people you feel as if you are right there.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Conor was definitely my favorite person. Of course you fall in love with each person, however the way Conner tells the story you can feel his hurts, his doubts, his discomfort, and joys just as if you were right there with him. I love the way he learns to love these children. His feelings when he first got there and then watching him grow and fit into these peoples lives. It is a truly beautiful yet hard story for life in Nepal.

What does Conor Grennan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Feeling! Conor brings feeling into the story. You can feel at first his doubts and then his love.

    Any additional comments?

I loved this book. I was surprised to learn of the terrible things happening in the lives of people even today. This is a shocking yet wonderfully informative book of a man never expecting to fall in love with the people of Nepal. He was only going for a short time yet his life was drastically changed.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, there was so much going back and forth if I wasn't paying close attention I was lost. However aside from "my poor attention span" it was pretty good.

Would you listen to The Secret Keeper again? Why?

No, once was enough. I did enjoy it the first time but I am not one to read the same book twice or listen to the same story twice. This was good but not that good.

Rachel Weaver Mason is finally going home to Deer Run, the Amish community she left behind so many years ago. Recently widowed, she wants desperately to create a haven for herself and her young daughter. But the community, including Rachel's family, is anything but welcoming. The only person happy to see her is her teenage brother, Benjamin, and he's protecting a dark secret that endangers them all.

What made the experience of listening to Home by Dark the most enjoyable?

It was a completely different story line than I'm used to (for an Amish story) and I loved it.

What did you like best about this story?

What I was sure of at the beginning, I wasn't so sure later on. I'm referring to which of the brothers Rhoda would choose.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the fact that she was accepted completely in one community even though she was branded in another (both being Amish) and given a chance.

    Any additional comments?

    I loved the book.
