When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, "I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me."

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not really. The book has very clear, open and direct political and religious views.

What could Eric Blehm have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Just tell me the story as it is. Leave your religious and politics views aside.

Have you listened to any of Paul Michael’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Paul is very good. His performance was great and I have to make sure that I do not associate his great performance with this book.

Do you think Fearless needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

The story was OK, the performance was real good. To me, the explicit religious and politic bias was a major turn off. I want to hear stories and facts as they were without covert and, often overt mentions of the author's beliefs.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

    The main character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Kept me on the edge of my seat. My kind of book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

My wife already ordered book two of the trilogy. I will pass and go back to a business book.

Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Was Fifty Shades of Grey worth the listening time?

It was not worth my time, but I gave it a change and listened to the end. My wife also has a copy and she is really into it.
