I enjoyed this book, but have to agree that the ending seemed rushed.
Not Nora Roberts best book.
I thought James Daniels did an awesome job, loved listening to him in the Robert Crais/Elvis Cole books. He is a great narrator.
Was worth the listen, not sure how many times I'd listen to it again. Some of Nora Roberts books are worth several listens.
A different narrator, a less predictable story, and a LOT less boring babbling unimportant details.
TOTALLY finished with the Bentz and Montoya series. If cops are really this stupid, naive and gullible, I don't want to know this.
Prefer a male narrator, as Joyce Bean just butchers male voice, and this book had too many males. Story painful
I don't think so, probably done with Lisa Jackson
To be fair, I did enjoy Afraid to Die: A Selena Alvarez & Reagan Pescol Novel, Book 4.
Might suggest they read the book, not listen.
Pretty predictable, might have cut out some of the "thoughts of Sam". They were tiresome
Drug things out, trying too hard to be "suspenseful", terrible male voices
actually skipped some of the middle of the book, and that helped
Too preachy for me. Sarah is such a whiner
After Triptych, it's almost like someone else wrote this one. Won't be get any Karin Slaughter books.
same ole, same ole. Triptych had Will's voice with an accent, so he seemed nothing like he was in the first book.
Anger at all the preaching.
As disturbing and dark as this was, it was hard to stop listening to it.
Figuring out the truth of Woody
I thought he did an excellent job with this book
too many, but probably the horror for a 16 year old boy who's life was changed forever.
This was my first listen of the Will Trent series. I'm hoping the rest of the series is a well written as this book.
A different narrator for sure. I have no idea who is who by his terrible attempt to do a woman's voice.
the beginning, the middle and the end
My first Minette Walters and my first Simon Prebble. Also the last for Minette Walters and my last for Simon Prebble.
I can not believe the 5 star reviews for this book!!!!!!
Elizabeth Waring and of course "The Butchers Boy", Michael Schaeffer. I love a book that makes a "Bad" guy the guy you love.
I love the scene in the church and of course the ending scenes that brought the story to an end.
Michael Kramer does a great job as a narrator, and will now check out more Thomas Perry books, as this was my first, but NOT my last.
Didn't think I'd do another after not finishing "The Hexed", but I did it again. Now I'm done
Had it figured out about 1 hour into the book. The "ghosts" are so unbelievable, I can't imagine anyone not finding them just down right silly.
Yes, I don't mind Luke Daniels as a narrator.
Have to agree with DonnaC's review about the condom always being brought up by an unprepared man, and the always "ever hopeful" woman on birth control. What about STDs? Please, if you're bringing into the storyline, then have them practice safe sex. Especially since the men are always "practiced lovers", which I'm tired of hearing also!
A Less angry, self important Scarpetta. Seems she is surrounded by stupid, spoiled, closed off nitwits. Yawn
What ending? Oh wait, did I miss the ending? Oh, now I remember, the abrupt unrealistic ending.
Wish Patricia Cornwell would not leave several story lines that went on in excruciatingly painful detail just hanging without a resolution. Whats up with that?
I am re-listening to a lot of these books, as I listened to them via cassette years ago. Got a bit tired of Lucy being a brat and Scarpetta (super woman) thinking she is the only person who can do anything and the only person who cares.Thought the ending was a big build up then a bit anti-climatic. But that has happened in the last 2 books also. I am on to another book, Cause of Death, and finding the super women/bratty niece theme continued. As far as C.J. Critt as a narrator, I've gotten used to her, and really don't mind her at all.
