It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She'd been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

Interesting, thought provoking, intelligent. I usually cringe when books are narrated by the author, but in this case Ashton's is the only voice competent to tell the story. Very well done, indeed.

Journalist Michael J. Mooney reveals the life story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the American Sniper, from his Texas childhood up through his death in February 2013. A brutal warrior but a gentle father and husband, Kyle led the life of an American hero and legend. His heroism and reputation in the military service earned him the nickname "the devil" among insurgents and the nickname The Legend among his SEAL brethren, but his impact extended beyond that after he came home, through his work with fellow veterans.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would totally recommend "The Life and Legend of Chris Kyle" to friends and enemies alike.

What did you like best about this story?

My favorite was the entire 1 hour and 56 minutes.

    Any additional comments?

Wonderful, thought-provoking writing, perfect narrator and all the right stuff to tell Kyle's story. His widow contributed to the book as well. Next stop for me is American Sniper but I'm quite happy I read this book first.

Filicideis the intended act of parents killing their children. The act is also regarded as an offence since it amounts to murder. It appears to very unnatural for a parent to end the life of his child. As much as this appears to be inhumane and unimaginable, there are some parents who kill their offspring.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Have no recommendation as to the purchase of this book either way. Personally, I'm satisfied.

What aspect of Don Kline’s performance would you have changed?

Don Kline tends to speak in phrases, which was okay once I caught his rhythm. Pretty much a matter-of-fact narrator.

    Any additional comments?

The book isn't great but it's reasonably well done and, based on the stories I knew beforehand, quite accurate.

Would you try another book from Ken Englade and/or James Conlan?

Might be well-written but my urge was to slap the narrator the duration I suffered through this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ken Englade again?

Not if Conlan is the narrator.

New England is best known for its covered bridges, immaculate town greens, and Revolutionary War history. Yet an evil presence has hidden behind the 17th-century stone walls and clap-boarded homes of CT, Mass., and Rhode Island for centuries. New York Times best-selling author M. William Phelps takes a look at some of the most terrifyingly true stories in New England history.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have cut out the second half of the book as it really has no value. Just a time filler. However, the first story about the tragic nightclub fire was interesting, though very sad.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Pierce’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to a number of books narrated by Kevin Pierce. Don't think he's everyone's top choice, but I have grown to like and appreciate him.

Zach Fortier is back with more true crime accounts from the streets. This time he deals with the subject of cops gone bad, including an account of one cop that made the FBI's ten most wanted list for a brutal, quadruple murder. It's hard to believe - and read - about so many police officers that fall from grace and make every mistake possible: theft, murder, fraud, drug abuse, and more. Not to mention the cops sent to prison, proving that "anyone is capable of anything given the right circumstances."
