Three children, running in the woods behind their school, stumble upon a partially buried female body, eyes and mouth glued shut. Close behind the children is their teacher, Anne Navarre, shocked by this discovery and heartbroken as she witnesses the end of their innocence. What she doesn't yet realize is that this will mark the end of innocence for an entire community, as the ties that bind families and friends are tested by secrets uncovered in the wake of a serial killer's escalating activity.

Lots of suspense! Maybe a little easy to figure the plot but still filled with surprises. I'll listen to it again.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

This book was awesome! Although the ending was great, and was a perfect fit for the story, I just dreaded it because I wanted more. Rarely does a book keep me hanging on every line, but this is one that did. I felt like I was there, exploring the building's mysteries with them. Just enough character development (Tim was my favorite). Narrator was spot on!

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

One of the best series ever, and one that I always look forward to. I love that Rachel has grown up, and it was nice to have less Ivy in this book. Marguerite Gavin's narration was great, as usual. However, I am about halfway through the book, and the over-use of phrases such as "I went cold", "His brow furrowed", etc. is driving me nuts. The constant use of "His best Peter Pan pose" and "Bunny-eared kiss kiss" used to just grate on my nerves. We are 11 books into the series. Just saying it may be time for some new lines.

Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena's Claiming. Even Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals is affected - and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What - or who - will need to be sacrificed?

The Beautiful Creatures series is my absolute favorite. I have been an Audible member for years and these are the only books I have ever listened to twice. Yes, they move a bit slow and can be are repetetive. However, I enjoyed the sound effects and the narration is great. My favorite characters are Ethan's elderly aunts. They are adorable! I am from the deep South and they remind me of a couple of people I know!

Takes awhile to get into these books, but by the the end of the second one I was hooked. Bahni Turpin is the best choice of narrator for this series. Gritty and not a pretty story, but fascinating at the same time.

Georgina Kincaid has formidable powers. Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals - all child's play to a succubus like her. Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend's wedding is a different story. Georgina isn't sure which is worse - that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses.

Kat Richardson excels at creating vivid, fast-moving novels that blend urban fantasy with paranormal mystery. In Greywalker, Seattle P.I. Harper Blaine is viciously attacked and murdered - but after exactly two minutes, somehow she returns to life. Now she's seeing strange things all around her - dark visions from the shadow world - and living a normal life may no longer be possible no matter how hard she tries.

I like the story line but the narrator just ruins it for me. The lisp is distracting, and the voice of Cameron reminds me of a Ninja Turtle. Won't buy the rest of the books in the series due to narrator.

Resented by his parents, abandoned by his friends, and reviled by a society that no longer considers him human, Andy is having a bit of trouble adjusting to his new existence. But all that changes when he goes to an Undead Anonymous meeting and finds a kindred soul in Rita, an impossibly sexy recent suicide with a taste for the formaldehyde in cosmetic products.

I am pleasantly surprised that I liked this book as much as I did. Definitely dark humor and quite a bit of gore, but a fun listen. You will cheer for the zombies. The narrator is perfect for this story, and does a really good job.
