What did you love best about The Trouble with Love?

So far, I love the way each character is brought to life through Holly Adams' performance--she has a distinctive voice and delivery for each character, so I feel drawn into their world and world view. I have only finished the first part of the book, but I found myself getting more and more drawn into it as the story unfolds...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Susannah--she is so independent and intellligent--determined to be her own person, yet not fully aware and accepting of herself as a woman. I look forward to discovering the way her character develops in the second half of the book!

Have you listened to any of Holly Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have not listened to Holly Adams before, but I plan to find other books she has read-- the nuances of her voices, the pacing of her delivery, and the variety of inflections in her tone make this a believable and compelling book--she really draws you in, helping you experience each moment of the story ---bringing it to life in a wonderfully engaging manner--I want more!

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to finishing this story--it is a lot of fun--certainly a great romance/love story and nice light reading/listening.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Face to be better than the print version?

I liked the character of Sarah and the way she helped me think about what life is like for people with serious disabilities.

What did you like best about this story?

    Yes.

What does Holly Adams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The character of Sarah and her relationship with her aunt provide the author with a vehicle for addressing some interesting issues "faced" by many people in our world today. Sarah is easy to relate to, so the issues do not come out in a heavy handed way.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I find this question hard to answer because I truly admire Holly Adams' work. I find her interesting to listen to and particularly enjoy the way she creates diverse characters through the way she uses her voice. I do not think I would have enjoyed this story so much if she had not been reading it.

    Any additional comments?

This is worth listening to. The quality of the performance and the nature of the subject matter make it well worth your time.

Would you consider the audio edition of Last Call to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version, but I think I would prefer the audio book because of the skillful narration by Holly Adams. The story comes alive when she reads it, so I think I would find this more interesting.

Which character – as performed by Holly Adams – was your favorite?

I found Sunny very appealing--Holly really brought out the complexities of her character--her strengths, her weaknesses, her passion and determination. Holly's understanding of Sunny was clearly demonstrated in the ways she paced her delivery. She helped me relate to Sunny, sympathize with her situation and applaud the choices she made on her own behalf.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I was on a long distance trip when I turned this book on, so it kept us company on our entire journey.

    Any additional comments?

Fun and tastefully done sex scenes--good summer listening/reading.
