In Pack of Two, the author of the acclaimed best seller Drinking: A Love Story tackles a different sort of relationship. Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank (Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby) guides us into the life of Caroline Knapp who, after losing both parents to cancer and breaking off a two-decade long relationship with alcohol in the span of one year, struggles - and succeeds - to redefine her world. The unlikely solution to Knapp’s task was found in the form of a dog named Lucille.

What did you love best about Pack of Two?

Everything, but particularly the chapter on dogs as surrogates for women in lieu of having children.

What did you like best about this story?

I can't pick just one thing. It's one of the first non-fiction books I have read in a long while and I was very, very pleased.

Waverly Bryson is a successful businesswoman in her late 20s who almost has it all: a dream job in sports PR, two best friends, and a bar where everybody knows her name. What she doesn’t have is a ring on her finger. And after being ditched at the altar, she’s in no hurry to get one. Besides, plenty of other issues keep her busy, including her wayward father, a new rival at work, and an ever-nagging fear that her life is not turning out as she thought it would...or should.

A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion. A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal. Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all?

Where does Easy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not in my top ten, but it was still enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

I was looking for a realistic chick-lit love story that wasn't full of "Oh John!" "Oh Martha!" moments. The story was easy to follow and ended well. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Have you listened to any of Tara Sands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I am now on the lookout for more of her performances.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No, I did not.

Move over James Bond--you've just met your match! Hays Baker and his wife, Lizbeth, possess super-human strength, exceptional intelligence, stunning looks, a sex life to die for, and two beautiful children. Of course they do - they're Elites, endowed at birth with the most advanced genetic enhancements available. Elites are the pinnacle of evolution; the triumph of man's ambitions. But there's a problem in their perfect world....

What did you love best about Toys?

I loved the performance, but I also liked the story. I am not a regular Patterson reader.. this is actually the first book I've tried. I can honestly say, I wouldn't have picked it up if it wasn't for the narrator.. but I am very glad I did; based on reviews I wasn't expecting a very decent story and I was happily disappointed on that front. I found it very entertaining.

If you’ve listened to books by James Patterson and Neil McMahon before, how does this one compare?

Again, I have nothing to compare it to.. although because of the excerpt from the new Women's Murder Club book at the end I am going to probably try those next.

What about Matthew Bomer’s performance did you like?

The more appropriate question would be what DIDN'T I like? Matt Bomer needs to read all of the books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have if I would have had the time to do so. There were parts that were definitely more exciting than others, but it was a good story.

    Any additional comments?

I gave this book a shot and I am very happy I did. Matt Bomer's narration is EXCELLENT and the story is easy to get into. If you're on the fence, give it a try! :)
