If anyone makes it to the end of this book, please let me know if anything ever happens! The reader was so good that he made it SOUND like something was or would happen, but I sure didn't get to that far, if it did.
Clancy has done his usual good research on the background of the latest location for his novel to play out. However, the only other new twist in this novel is that the hero is an incompetent, brooding misfit who would not have been assigned to such a vast array of critically important missions. I felt sorry for the narrator, who did a good job despite having to read list after list of descriptions of military weapons and airline flights.
What a waste of time! Silly and insignificant are the best words I know to describe it.
I blamed a technical glitch for the absence of an ending to this book, only to learn after11 1/2 hours that the abrupt ending was no mistake. Surely he could have made his point in fewer words that bankers, politicians, criminals, and secret government agents are in cahoots to get rich at our expense.
