I am a really big fan of this series. I didn't think I would like it, but I do! If you try to listen to this before any of the other books you will be totally confused. It is meant to fill in the missing parts to some of the major character's backstory. It isn't meant as an introduction to the world created by Robert Jordan. I suggest listening to at least 5 books in the series before getting this one. It will give you a deeper understanding of the Hows and Whys of what has happened and will let you look at the series from a fresh perspective. After listening to this one, I will begin listening to the series over again!

She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real.

If you could sum up Alice in Zombieland in three words, what would they be?

I just couldn't...I tried...but no. Too many good things to say.

What did you like best about this story?

This is what a teenage girl book should be. She needs to be able to pull herself up and fight. Not just sit and wait for a guy to save her, although it is nice to have one fight next to. I am going to be waiting with baited breath for book 2 in September.

What about Natalie Gold’s performance did you like?

She was really good. I knew who was talking and when. I liked the quality of her voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    I cried at the beginning.

The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy, the first volume in the five-part Hitchhiker "trilogy" made Douglas Adams a science fiction sensation, and is a must-listen for any and all fans of the genre. Don't forget to bring a towel!

Would you listen to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy again? Why?

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times YES!

What other book might you compare The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to and why?

None, you can not compare this book to any other book. It is so fun and thought provoking. Smart, brilliant and deserves to stand out for all time!

Have you listened to any of Douglas Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. But it is a privilege and an honor to hear a story performed by the author and an additional treat when the performance is excellent!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is no specific part...but then again...I think digital watches are still a pretty neat idea...

    Any additional comments?

This is a book that will make you see the universe from another point of view, and it will make you laugh while doing it. Do yourself a favor, listen to the story and hear a master storyteller at the top of his game. 42

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy - a school of myths, magic, and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, but only because I think it is going to get better now that the characters are established. I think that this book places too much emphasis on sex and drugs/alcohol. The plot would have been just as good without them. I know for a fact that teens will read a good story without so much gratuitous use of those elements. Like I said before, this is a good plot and could have stood on its own feet.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can not answer that question without spoilers.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The reading was a little too snarky and jaded for me at first. I didn't like the character and how she was being represented. But as the character grew and changed, the reading did too. At the end of the story I understand why the performance was the way it was. Now I say Bravo!

Could you see Touch of Frost being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Too early to tell...

    Any additional comments?

I am going to say again that teen/YA readers are smart. It has been proven time and again that they will read a good story and buy a good story without the overuse of sex and drugs/alcohol. Most of the teens I know are actually turned off if there seems to be no point for it. But, the plot and the characters here did a wonderful job standing on its own without all the smutty fluff on the side.

Dru Anderson is a very special girl - even if she doesn't always feel it. Gifted with "the touch", Dru travels about with her dad, hunting all manner of things that go bump in the night. But then her dad turns up dead - or, er, undead - and everything changes.

It started off a little slow, but after hearing the whole story, I could understand why. There are so many parts that made me want to stay "in the light". People who like the "House of Night" or "Twilight" series will be delighted! How do I live until the 29th when the 3rd book comes out?!?

Okay, to be honest I am not done listening to this yet. I am halfway through, but this is so much fun I am stopping to call some friends and telling them to get it, to write this review...and to buy the next couple in the series while I am here. There is a reason why there are so many books in this series. If you are looking for a book to alter your life or to take seriously then keep looking. But, if you are looking for a book that will make you smile, laugh and gasp with delight this is it. This was totally credit worthy!

I wont lie, this is not my most favorite of the BDB Books. There is so much in the way of transition in the world that has been created that you simply will not get if you do not know the books that came before. I have to admit, I did do the happy dance that this is here just because I am such a HUGE fan of JR Ward. I really, really, hope Audible gets the other books in the series.

I love this series of books. I find it a little disturbing when the narrators change from book to book in a series, but that can be okay if they are good narrators. But this narrator is really terrible. He doesn't pronounce the names of the characters correctly, and he made my favorite character "Zed" sound stupid with a really, really, exaggerated accent. I am almost to the point where I am thinking of finding a spoiler of this book so I can quickly move on to the next without having to listen to this guy anymore. The story itself is wonderful, the series is wonderful, so far, but I would buy the book of this one and leave the narration to yourself, you will be better satisfied.
