I'm so glad you added this version. The narrator is excellent (so much better than the one used for the abridged version!). He just makes the story and the characters come alive. It's one of my favorite NR books. Thanks!

This book was actually very difficult to listen to. While any book narrated by TS is entertaining (he's one of my favorite narrators), this book went on and on too long with struggles, without adding much plot. It started with a lot of promise, but had to force myself to finish. Sorry, but it's definitely not my DH favorite.

I am a huge NR fan,I but this & the other recent books are very one dimensional writing. I'm no writer, but I've listened to hundreds of audible books, and this barely kept my attention. Yes, it's a mystery, but no real story there. Sorry to all NR fans. This is not worth a credit.

I am a huge SB fan. I listen to her stories over & over again, but this story is hard to get through. None of the characters are likeable and even though Dick Hill does a great job narrating the book, it's just not worth listening to.

A cop with nothing left to lose, Burke Basile is out to get revenge. Corrupt lawyer Pinkie Duvall has cost him his best friend’s life and his job. Kidnapping Pinkie Duvall’s trophy wife seems the perfect way to get even. There’s just one problem. He doesn’t foresee the electric attraction he’ll feel for this lonely, desperate woman from New Orleans. Sandra Brown’s flair for concocting just the right blend of passion and mystery has made her one of America’s most popular writers.

This was a long, drawn-out story without a lot of substance. I'll still probably buy the 3rd in the series, but hope it's better than this one. I didn't think the narrator was bad, but you couldn't tell which voices were speaking most of the time. It was even hard to tell if they were male or female. He didn't have much to work with, so I don't fault him as much as my favorite author, NR.

You miss so much of the story. It's a great SB book, but can't even listen to the abridged version after hearing the unabridged. I'd buy it again in a minute if they come out with the unabridged version. Don't waste your money on this one.

It happened the way attraction happens best: suddenly, passionately, uncontrollably and unforgettably. Thousands of feet above the ground on a crowded flight to Washington, D.C., radio personality Keely Williams felt the irresistible pull of handsome congressman Dax Devereaux. They were speaking at the same congressional hearing about Vietnam soldiers listed as MIA. Tragically, Keely’s husband was among the missing soldiers. He had been her childhood sweetheart, her future, her love....

I wish I'd checked the original published date. Bought in a hurry. It wouldn't be a bad "read" if it was less than $5.00, but definitely not worth a credit. Sandra Brown has certainly improved over the years, but this just doesn't compare to Ricochet, Smash Cut, The Alibi, and Envy! Then again, it was interesting to see how far we (men and women) have come or changed in our communication and relationships.
