Simply a great book - completely absorbing, I wish it had been longer.
Very good book with a rich story line, the overall complexity, detail and story were as expected for this series and I will continue to read/listen to Allon's continued escapades.
I didn't find the whole group of characters completely believable but that didn't detract at all.
I enjoyed the listen but the pace of events was a little slow at times and this detracted from the enjoyment.
An interesting twist of events in the story that I hadn't seen coming from afar and the reading was very well done. I will need to check out other Grisham books before I know whether this pace is typical.
A very long time ago I owned and heard this book on an earlier media type, possibly tape. I had forgotten until I started listening that I knew the story, I do not regret re purchasing.
This is an overall great story with a lively and interesting group of characters that were a pleasure to see through Jakes Graftons eyes. It ended too soon for me, one more chapter to close out the characters recovery after their rescue would have helped me.... I worried about them... this means then, that I was captivated which is a good indication of the quality of the entertainment.
A very good listen.
The characters and story line were rich and enveloping and it was all at a good pace, I was hooked early and wanted to remain in my car at my destination and continue listening.
The reading by Robert Glenister was brilliant and I will be looking for more he has done, I hope he continues through any further of the series (and there must be a series).
So .... great book & performance - hope more follows soon.
The story on a whole was good – although a couple of moments where characters did things that just seemed too unlikely, to the point where you stopped being absorbed and starting thinking of why. It was too good a story for the convenient easy move of putting a victim in need of rescue during the final action.
My lasting feeling of disappointment with this listening experience was the narrating, or at least just one aspect of the narrating that would otherwise have been good. This aspect was so grating and horrible that it destroyed every moment created and broke every spell created ....It was the very very very feeble and breathy voice of every female, this above all else dropped this experience to the lowest listen of all so far.
My second in the series only and another wonderful book - again i will be going back for more.
I wished I had known it as a series before i picked up this as the first - but a joy to listen to, the reader was great and the book wonderful.. I will be getting more in the series.
A little slow even though full of suspense !- glad i read/listened and will be downloading another but if i had read this one first, I may have taken a little longer to load the next.
yes - if you like action (perhaps clancy or connelly) you will love this McNab -
Brilliant - I really hope he is reading the others - so refreshing, unglossy and lending himself to imagery
I listen in the car and didn't want to get out at destinations, I dreamed about one part where I had to leave the book for a week and didn't know what would happen next. I wish I had read in order - but whatever - going back to the start now and I am very happy I gambled on downloading someone I didn't know anything off...
